Sorry for the delay in posting. This week saw a trio of ladies writing about a variety of creations. Crystal builds a work constructed from her own craft, Britt celebrates the craft of her superannuated friend and MaryAnn recognizes the birth of a new order from the terrible destruction of the existing one. Well done!

House Built of Writer's Block by JaneDoeWrites 10 points
I really adore the creativeness the author has shown within this poem, especially since the topic is about the absence of inspiration to write, and yet something this good has been achieved. The personal touches of the journal show just how much writing means to this character, and how it has helped them cope with the pain in their past, and how it really tells the story of them, and who they are. Very creative title to match a wonderfully penned poem. Well done!

The imagination here and imagery is lovely, I love the metaphors and emotion. I enjoyed reading it and I know exactly how you feel on that considering I have been experiencing a form of writers block. I feel that was very well penned

Rustic Mrs. Owen by Britt 7 points
Britt introduces the reader to a lovely character that somehow warms your heart, and you just want to reach out to this lady! This is a poem where the character feels so real, and you feel so much connection and sympathy for her. I enjoyed the innocence of the poem, how Mrs Owen seems to enjoy her own company, and patiently awaits her visiting grandchildren, and yet the author words the ending of the poem in a way that doesn't give much hope of them doing so in the near future.
Rustic Mrs. Owen by Britt 7 points
This poem is rustic beauty!
There are a million or more Mrs. Owen's in this world, who calmly, and silently, do things to comfort their soul, when all they truly need is quality time from their loved ones.
The descriptive detail Britt adds to this piece was quite elegant... "Needles as old as her fingers"
And I could picture this lovely woman unravel yarn... Our elders are captivating, rich with nurturing love and compassion, but many... many... way to many get left in the corner to sip tea alone.
This poem was truly a lovely write by Britt this week!

A new age by Poet on the piano 10 points
Holy crap I love the descriptions and just the eerie feel of it. This, to me is flawless and I am speechless. I love how you painted every word I truly do love this
A new age. by Poet on the Piano 4 points
MaryAnne, crafted her wording in such a vivid and powerful way within this poem. I love her talented gift of writing, she paints of a picture of graphic torment, horrific mental displays, to describe feelings. Being inspired by zombies and then tie it into her feelings and then to create such a lovely write?? Yeah that blows me away. Wonderful, just wonderful!!!

A poem to the brave by Karla 10 points
An exceptional write that left me in awe - Karla has once again written another masterpiece and this is definitely worthy of praise. This piece is inquisitive and reflective. One of my favourite parts of this poem was: "(why do we have to be measured/by our milestones of stupidities and joys?)". It hold so much truth, that a person can be quantifiable in the sense of our success or lack of success (and whatever the definition of success is, to the person quantifying people).

And You by Mnemosyne 10 points
A fantastically penned piece that not only shares the emotions the author has towards whoever the "you" may be but it captures the reader and entices them, especially those who are book worms and literature freaks as many people on P&Q have allowed themselves to be. It reminds me of the "Kidnap poem" by Nikki Giovanni in the way this author has used elements of their skills and crafts to describe this person or how important that person may be. It is a personal twist on so many wonderful themes and it was penned beautifully.

How Futile by rabea 10 points
Rabea---- If you read this once, you're in shock of its beauty, if you read it twice, you're fainting and if you read it three times... you're speechless! Took me a bit to gather my thoughts and compile them into a comment because this author created a true masterpiece.
The rhyme scheme is poetically sound and I truly swayed while I read it!
The sadness of a life torn... the depth of sadness... just hits the reader's soul!
Rabea has such a unique balance and tempo within this poem, creatively crafted and what's felt even more so is the true grit and heart, compassion within this piece.. Astounding!!

Lessons by Lilimuty 4 points
Lovely piece that explored the discrepancies between society and one's realization of themselves. It entails how the author slowly deals with this issue, and later state they learn to live with their self-image, instead of embracing (which I don't necessarily agree with, but it's better than the alternative). Amazing write.

I thought this poem deserved a high mention because I like the simplicity the poem holds, and how the author creates a journey of their life, and describes the relationship between themselves and the mirror at various ages. I feel this piece is very honest, and shows what low self esteem can do to your confidence, and how long it can take to have the hope of rebuilding it, and of being able to look in that mirror again and accepting the person looking back.

Fleur-de-Lis by Hellon 7 points
I enjoyed the brevity of this piece, and the depth of this poem as well. The title means stylized lily, and the poem is formatted to mimic the gist of that shape, which I enjoyed as well; I also enjoy the fact that there were three stanzas (possibly one to represent each of the leaf of the lily). Well-written poem!

Reasons to Hate Winter by JaneDoeDoesWrite 7 points
This piece is wonderful, it can be taken in so many different ways, but at the same time it's something so completely personal that no one can understand it, partially or fully . The descriptions here not only move the story along at the perfect pace but they are written in such a way that they convey more of the emotion than the words themselves, more so than the personal touches and extra words. There is a voice that is so beyond unique in this that it truly stands out and it blew me away so completely.

What happens when the light goes out by Noura 4points
I liked how this was written and it definitely gives an opinion. I love how when you used deeper the line got shorter and shorter. It built imagery for me! I also enjoyed the ending and I believe this is truer then we realize. Well crafted

The First Kiss by Rings of Poetry AKA naughtymouse 4 points
This piece is very well written, it captures the moment of this event, the kiss so perfectly. It shows the details of the moment itself the leading up the anticipation and the kiss. For something so "simple" I love how this piece was able to capture the essence of the moment. The word choice was well chosen and even almost humorous at times. There is a style to this piece quite unlike what would be expected from previously submitted pieces from Rings of Poetry. A wonderfully penned piece, well deserving of some spotlight here on PnQ.
