I'm Okay - by Poetess (10pts + 10pts)
'The lie that everyone tells at least once in their lifetime... I am okay... but really I am falling apart. I find this poem to be very simple in the meaning, but yet the content is vivid with metaphors that really make the poem unique, even though it describing a clich© subject. The author has cleverly taken the reader through a journey in their eyes, and what a day can be like for them after being asked if they are okay. The author claims to be okay, whilst showing their audience that they are far from it.' (10)
'An extremely powerful piece that captivates the reader from the start; Liz managed to capture the running of a thousand thoughts when asked the trivial question "how are you". The imagery in this piece is absolutely surreal and is just unfathomable at times, there were quite a few verses that left me in awe; such as, "sometimes,/the ghosts of the past tie/nooses around their necks/ from the corners of my lips/and weigh them down." "...sometimes,/the ghosts of the past tie/nooses around their necks/from the corners of my lips/and weigh them own.". Absolutely phenomenal especially for such a 'raw' write. Well done!' (10)

Random acts of Poetry - by GB (7pts + 7pts)
'The author employs such a simplistic voice (in the sense that she is not overly verbose, cramming imagery, but just minimalistic as can be) infused with an unmatched sense of elegance in this poem. An example of what I mean: "as soft/as his rain/-/might be/satisfactory.". Four short verses but beautifully done that carries a realm of meaning, it's just beautiful and though the verses length might be sparse at times, it seems to fit in with the theme of 'random acts of poetry' in the sense that 'random' acts tend be sporadic and short in nature, and this seems to mirror that, which I enjoyed. An exceptional write.' (7)
'The title of this is wonderful, it goes along explaining this metaphoric beauty to a tee!
This poem reads with an elegant flow and a style very uniquely on its own. It mesmerized me!
The message is captivating and takes you on a journey of angles that can tie into scattered emotions that the writer has for someone. I really like the format...
It's also a thought provoking piece, and takes me on a journey of heavy emotions that can lead to a writer's block that the author worked in the middle of the piece.
Enjoyed this very much!! (7)'

The Edgar Allan Poe Doll by Larry Chamberlin The Godfather (10pts)
'This piece did very well in Andrea's contest and is continuing to make waves on poems and quotes. The story line itself is hilarious, the word choice is great, and the idea is so completely unique that it is wonderful in every way possible. Very well worth its place in Andrea's contest and now worth a week's worth of spotlight for it's stunning use of every skill in a poet's pallet. Absolutely love this piece.' (10)

HM's:
Fairy Circle (Pantoum) - By Dark Secrets (10pts)
'This formed poem has been written with true grace and elegance.
This well-crafted formed poem has a lovely rhyme scheme pattern that
Dark Secrets displayed. The flow, rhythm and style is very pretty to read.
This mystical poem is filled with metaphoric style and beautiful, colorful visual displays, so while reading you can picture the circle of fairies. I truly enjoyed this precious write. Well done!! (10)'

Remembrance Dialogue by beautiful soul (7pts)
'This piece is very well written about the current state of someone's life. Or maybe not even that but about how their current state makes their mind go back to a certain point in their life and it is something that so many people can relate to in their own way at some point or another. The word usage is very well utilized and the rhythm is spot on for being a rant or a release of resistance. There's a voice that is very well penned and expressed.' (7)

Kindness Past October - Saerelune (4 pts + 4pts)
'Saerelune has a poetic voice that just crafts imagery and describes emotional so exceptionally well, it's scary at times. There's something about this piece that's 'raw' in a sense, that let the reader emphasize with the author, or rather find themselves agreeing with certain parts of this poem. This is definitely one of the more emotional yet poetic pieces I've read.'
'Saerelune highlights the loneliness and pain that can sometimes overtake a person and change their ways of thinking, and reacting to the world around them. The poem shows how it can consume oneself, and how depression can truly affect someone, and change the person they used to be. The poem is also written in a selfless expression of believing oneself to be selfish, resulting in the reader feeling connected to the content, because we are all guilty of being selfish sometimes. A very honest write.'

Pain - by DarkJedi (7pts)
'This poem highlights how much we take for granted in life, and how an illness can take over somebody's body, but yet it has a hard battle trying to take over their mind. I admire the bravery to write this poem, and share this story of what life is like and how hard the battle is to face each day, especially when each new day becomes a little harder. It really does make you consider what you have and perhaps be a little more grateful for it.'

The Woman Sweeping Her Step - by Bill Peeler (4pts)
'Bill wrote a wonderful gem of a poem this week!
I can visualize a woman walking with a style and grace about her, but as I read on the message is much deeper.
The journey of the day begins with the same routine and rhythmic chaos, turning a possible ordinary day into a thought provoking whirlwind of emotions. A well written and unique poem that leaves the reader in awe! Very nice!'

A cobweb - by Everlasting (4pts)
''This is a poem that takes the state of the world today and not only puts it in perspective but allows it to be taken and viewed as literally anything else that is able to rule so much of your life so easily before just sorta fading away. There is a unique feel and a creative use of voice in this piece that really sets it apart from others. Very well penned, and well deserving of some spotlight.'
