Acts of Kindness Suggestions

One of my resolutions for the new year is to do at least one random act of kindness a week. For my birthday, which is at the end of the month, I will also be doing 24 (my age) acts of kindness that day. It is going to be my new birthday tradition; as I grow older, so will the good deeds. I have a list started but I thought it would be good to hear some suggestions from others, possibly to hear ideas that I wouldn't have thought of. Thank you so much if you offer a suggestion! It will not go unnoticed. :)

Also, my suggestion to you is to: PAY IT FORWARD! Even the smallest acts make a difference. <3

This is a real nice thing to do Hannah :)

I did something like this last year for a resolution it felt real good :)

One thing i did do was a Kinda Care pack for a homeless guys that I see on my way to work,, i just bundled up a toothbrush and toothpaste, some soap, cookies and some socks and gloves and dropped it off to him, it all came from the $1 store and was just a small thing, but it was kinda cool.

    Ooooo oooooo oooooo

another nice thing to do is that when you're eating out somewhere and the service is good, ask for the service manager or the manager and when they come over praise the waiter/ress to them :) i dont think it's something that happens very often so shy not try that....hey they may even get a little bonus or pay rise....stranger things have happened :)

A Random Kindness or ARK could change the course of the dawning age of Aquarius. I also need a flood of ideas
(you can be patient with my puns for one)
Sixty acts on my BD will indeed be a challenge lol

    Happy birthday in advance

Also be patient with my aspie obsessions. We focus on links that neurotypicals miss

Take a shopping cart back for someone after they unloaded groceries.

Buy someone's coffee behind you in line.

Send a thinking of you card to someone.

Go visit your local senior center or assisted living facility and play cards\board games/whatever activity.

    Offer to babysit for free.

Tell a stranger you think they're pretty/compliment them.

    Give a bigger tip.

Smile at strangers. Especially the elderly.

Ask a senior how their day is.

(I work with seniors so I know what they think about our generation.... they need this lol)

Thank you all! Wonderful acts to add to my list. <3

Britt - I have worked with the elderly for a few years and completely understand what you're saying! lol

Let someone go ahead of you in line at the grocery store.

    Volunteer at an animal shelter
offer to walk your neighbor's dog
tip your barista as you would tip a waiter (this never happens)
pick up trash at the beach/park/public places
offer directions to someone who looks lost (someone did this for me last week, I was so thankful)
go visit a parent/relative/sibling and just help them around the house for a bit
call up a friend you don't spend enough time with and make a plan to see them

    that's all I got. :)
good for you for doing this.

As a male in his thirties, apart from the sending a card suggestion, if I was to do any of the others I would come across as some sort of creepy perv.

However I think these are great suggestions for Hannah, just shows the difference between us blokes and Gals.

A man in his 30's could most of these!

The only ones I would think would look weird (if it wasn't for friend or fam) would be babysitting! lol. The others you just have to select the right time/place. The coffee in line, you could give the barista $5 and ask they put it toward the next bill, when there is no one in line behind you. Or do it through a drive thru. Anonymous ;)

I disagree - any man or woman could do any of them without being creepy.

It's all in the delivery - no expectations.

The most important thing is to do the RAK & disappear.

Has anyone mentioned paying the bridge toll for the car behind you? I have FasTrak so I can't do this anymore, but it's been done for me in the past and it really made my day!

Also, next time someone asks you to sign a petition outside of a grocery store, listen to what they have to say and sign it if it means anything to you.

When asked if you would like to donate $1 to such and such when paying for something, say yes.

Volunteer for a local animal shelter. The SPCA has "placement" every weekend, usually on Saturdays, and you can volunteer to sit with the dogs outside and take them on potty breaks.

You can sign meaningful petitions online at Change.org.

When paying a check at a restaurant, leave a thoughtful, short comment for your waiter. I.e., "You give awesome service!" or "You have a beautiful smile!"

Donate to a charity of your choice at gofundme.com.

Pay someone's parking meter if it's run out.

Make your neighbor cookies/brownies. If you're embarrassed about the gesture, just say you made extra/too many and you need help :)

When I used to work EVERYTIME (which was A LOT) I would donate to the whatever thing that H-E-B has every time I would order Chinese food from H-E-B my mother didn't understand why I would donate a dollar every time it went I think to food banks? I know it was to help the homeless I have a big heart, and I also donate on the Salvation Army thing every Christmas, it may not be alot but by the end of it people will be blessed with food or shelter or whatever so I try to be nice because I was raised with the saying: Do something good out of the kindness of your heart and God will repay you for your deeds."

These are all wonderful and great thoughts. Me wherever I go or am if I see a donation box-I'll add to it.

Right now I'm sponsoring a child and providing for her education expenses as well as living expenses.

My next step is to donate to a volunteer school assistance, so they can provide good teachers, books etc for poor kids who can't afford even to go to school.

It hurts to see so many children unable to go to school because they can't afford it.
