Screw this "killing someone to show killing someone is wrong" crap.

You give the death penalty to killers so that they wont kill. They may as well commit suicide if they do.

This is the same concept that you are going by if you think you should kill sexual offenders, child abusers, or drug dealers.

If you know you will get KILLED for it, you wont do it. Its not leading by example, its playing off our preservation instincts. The death penalty for those things would stop it REALLY quickly.

Justice isnt about examples either, justice is about righting wrongs with equal punishment. Thats how I personally see it, at least.

Plus, like JPM said, I wouldnt WANT to spend my life in jail. If I could get death, I would.

I think they need to make jail harsher, thats the first thing. Focus on rehab is great, but I remember all my brothers and sisters friends who were in jail and then got out telling me how cushy it was in there and if they couldnt pay their rent they would land themselves back in on purpose. I dont want to pay for those losers.

well even if u did, u might have been in one of those situations when u had to, so u probably shouldn't lose too much sleep over it

Yurp, Kevin, education helps, but what about those who are not educated? You simply cannot teach everyone regardless of where or when, be it adults or children, people slip through the net.
