    This week was a nature week for PnQ! While not all of our weekly winners have categorised their poems under the nature section of the site, our judges seemed to have a soft spot for poems that were inspired by aspects of the natural environment. Congratulations to everyone involved, it's always a pleasure reading your poetry and the judges comments.

    WINNER COMMENTS:

    The Bluebird by Everlasting

    This poem captivated me with style, not to mention imagery breaking all the unwritten rules that I usually get criticized for, but it was a plus in this masterpiece (7)

    ``````````````````````````````````````````````````
    This is such an uplifting poem bursting with beautiful scenes, and also a lovely rhythm with the words which makes it such a joy to read over and over. The author has captured a beautiful scene, and expressed it to us in these words. Fantastic write for Everlasting this week. (10)
    ``````````````````````````````````````````````````
    Everlasting makes me smile when she writes nature poems.

    She has such a unique outlook on things and the way she scribes her poems. A writer all of her own style, it's a delight to read.

    I became speechless with the message and flow of this piece.

    The style of repetition within this piece is just what this poem needed to stand out above the rest.

    Bluebirds are inspiring, nature is breathtaking and this poem is truly elegant! (7)

    ``````````````````````````````````````````````````
    For me what was impressive about this piece was the overall structure and poetic technique, it is obvious the poet writes with structure and technique in mind yet at the same time this poem does not appear overthought. The positivity blooms throughout the poem, just reading I felt a sense of happiness and this all comes from the delightful imagery you were able to create for the reader. The poem is almost like a song, while reading I could hear a beautiful tune in my mind and that added to the overall experience I had. (7)
    Forest by Hannah Elizabeth
    I find this poem by Hannah to be filled with the powerful content of depression, and how much it can truly take over your life. The imagery of this woman giving herself back to the earth, and waiting for death to make her part of everything around her, is so raw and touching. It is also very contrasting to feel such sadness, yet show the outcome of death making you a part of everything beautiful. Deep and powerful write. (7)
    ``````````````````````````````````````````````````

    To breathe in nature such as this piece, it explains in such an elegant and simplistic way, the true bond nature has and can have on a human being.

    I adore the beginning and ending of a soul within nature. It's very graceful and sorrowful at the same time, however it shows the natural cycle of all living things and the evolving of life.

    I adore the format, it displays the message in such a way that the poem flows with a very pretty rhythm.

    Beautiful poem by Hannah Elizabeth this week! Truly breathtaking! (10)

    The frost that coats our throats by Poet on the Piano

    If I had to be honest, I would nominate this poem only for the title, alone. The frost that coats our throats, how creative, how touching, and how deep!

    But then comes the poem itself. From verse to verse, this poem did not fail to impress me, I was making facial faces until I reached the very end of this piece. I have read a lot of poems this week, some of which I admired at different levels, but none has given me these emotions I felt reading The frost..; outstanding !

    Well done! (4)

    ``````````````````````````````````````````````````
    What I enjoyed most about this was the juxtaposition of words, you had some really harsh word choices yet made the entire poem sound beautiful by including words that added to the overall natural theme.
    "I used to think we were two seasons at war" was my favorite line, you managed to depict this throughout the entire poem and I feel as though this line just tied everything together.
    I think this poem could be interpreted by the reader in a couple of different ways, I was able to connect with a lot of these stanzas as you created nostalgia of past lovers and past times. (10)
    ``````````````````````````````````````````````````

    HONORABLE MENTIONS

    A Song for the Season by Larry Chamberlin the Godfather

    This was a very special poem in the contest nominations. It stood out by its rich rich combinations! It was coherent, well structured, and touching. I was touched by several lines. I thought it was very creative and unique.

    The opening two lines just caught me up in an instant! I felt really warm with reaching the 2nd half, and the humble feeling it gives the reader in the 3rd part, was simply nailed by the emotions the reader feel in the closing line. It's a very wide combination in this poem.

    Amazing work! (10)

    -----------------------------------------------------------------

    Natures Way AKA Naughtymouse

    I admire this poem, I am not always impressed by nature poems. Mostly they go green, flowery, and happy. Sometimes not.

    However I admired the new concept and the new perspective in this nature piece. Starting fro the title, Nature ways, to the verses; one after the other summing up the beauty of Nature's energy, power, love and yet, harmonic rage. I genuinely thought this was a very creative piece.

    Starting it off by stating how everything around is made of energy, giving significance to the tiniest living-thing; leading to that beautiful connection between Animals, Nature, Humans, life...
    then back to Nature..

    Outstanding. (4)

    -----------------------------------------------------------------

    Your Thief by Winter

    Winter captured the beauty of friendship in such a detailed, worded fashion this week, that held me captivated from beginning to end!

    I admire winter's uniqueness in writing, placing words along with style to capture the emotions displayed.

    Just beautiful! (4)

    ``````````````````````````````````````````````````
    This one was a romantic free flowing poem
    that also expressed much emotion in the beautiful imagery ,but it was the strong finish that pulled it all together (4)
    -----------------------------------------------------------------
    I Am Them by Anonymous Me
    This poem spoke to me in an original format . As a would be poet the first stanza captured my attention as each of the following did never drifting to far from the binding them of the self knowledge that our conscience is without ,but within (10)
    -----------------------------------------------------------------
    Friends Forever by Beautiful Soul
    I keep coming back to this poem and wonder why it draws me in so much. I came to the conclusion that so many short poems do not hold meaning to them, or do not hold a story. I find this short write by James holds so much. It has a very brief story, described through actions, and also a rhyme to match. I find the poem shows the heart of the author too, in how much they want kindness to comfort the loneliness in the world. Very nice little poem to lift you up this Winter. (4)
    -----------------------------------------------------------------
    Unfound by Porcelain Moon
    A short poem that packed a powerful punched. This was one of those pieces that had me thinking; I was looking for an interpretation and could not simply find one, that's due to the writer's elusive nature in this piece. I am sure the writer knows specifically what they speak of, however the choice of words allows the reader to filter through their thoughts until they land upon one that they can relate to. The last line definitely left it open to interpretation while for some I am sure set them on a pretty straightforward path. (4)
