    WINNERS COMMENTS:

    Submerged by POTP:

    "
This is a very powerful and strong poem. It was distinguished by its depth, and parallelism in equally coherent word choice and well established structure.

I was very keen of the thought provoking theme behind it too. There are a lot to be extracted from this poem, and more importantly to be related to.

A very unique piece for this week, doubtlessly." (10)

"Mary has created a poem about relying on the strength, guidance and support from a greater power, in order to get you through the darkness. Now whether this greater power be a loved one, God, or something else which is a source of inspiration and fight, it does not matter. It is a poem which can be adapted into one's own life to fit their own situation/emotions. The ending is a truthful fact, in how we know we need to live a life for ourselves, to do things for our own benefit, but sometimes all we need is someone else there beside us, to believe in us, and for them to be the reason we fight through the darkness. A fantastic poem overall. " (7)

    Melancholia (Caede) by Senyru

"There is a very unique format to this piece, one that most people do not know of or if they do are they are too shy to give it a shot. So the fact that Senyru made this piece look so effortless is an encouragement to other authors on the site as well as a beautiful display of just how lovely this form can in fact be. There is a very unique word choice to this write as well that makes the audience hungry for the next stanza. A slight hint of repetition worked well here as well. Everything about this piece is truly stunning. " (10)

    Dark Innocence by Larry

Larry painted a dark picture in words, of innocence stolen. Victims of child pornography.

I admire Larry's ability to create short powerful messages within his poems and he stood true to form this week with this piece. He sends the message with love for the victims and families of this tragic darkness.

The victims speak out, seeking retribution through the judicial system. Touching write, with a wonderful flow, and simplicity at its finest. Graceful and tastefully written by Larry this week! (7)

"This piece captures the true horror of the world. Not that the world is only dark, but it shows just the depth of the darkness so many people live through while so many others refuse to acknowledge. There is a simple shock factor to this piece that really makes it jump off the page and leave the audience wondering what they read and reading it over and over again looking for more meaning. It used the prompts seamlessly and made a phenomenal impression. Well written darkness. " (4)

    HONORABLE MENTIONS:

Faceless Memories by Beautiful Soul 7 points

The imagery in this piece absolutely phenomenal alongside the formless format it was a great balance as well. There is a voice in this piece that not only clearly stands out but truly leaves you thinking about how it felt to grow up in these shoes, wondering if things got any better and imagining that this is probably only the surface of this person's encounters. It's written in such a way that each and every line is a surprise after a few you realize you cannot anticipate the end of the poem or which way they next is going to sway. It's an awkward collection of information that creates a wonderful, vivid, strong piece. A greatly penned instance of sorrow.

    Stormy Weather - Maple Tree - 10

I found Andrea's poem heart-wrenching to read this week, and yet so beautifully constructed. This really shows off her talent as an author who can show emotions using the tools of the environment around her, and the ink of her pen. The poem is very touching and I think goes to show of the bravery she holds for life's battles, and how she will be there through thick and thin for her loved ones, no matter how much it hurts. A true fighter's words. A fearless spirit when it comes to protecting others.

    -------------------------------------

Where are you? - Ochita Miko - 4

The author has put their emotions right into the heart of this poem and opened up their vulnerable heart to show how much they long for that love and protection from the one they love, and who should love them. There was an ease of read to this poem, and something about it made me read it several times. Very truthful account of what it feels like to be so lonely and long for something we once had.

    Bleeding Mascara (4points)

Besides having awoken from a dream described in this poem I never stumbled on the flow of this well written piece

God sees the heart of man (10)

I love the theme, metaphors, and word choice in a delightful free flow . I found it so very inspiring

    A Clash in Love (7points)
    by RaniaMoallem aka Ms SunShine

this sad poem reflected well the clashing crashing of a wretched wreck that may have seemed unsinkable . These choices are never easy for me because of well deserved nominations so I have to go by what I feel

Dog Meat by Rings of Poetry AKA Naughtymouse (7 points)

This is very sad poem, very moving and touching. It spoke of volumes and more importantly the imagery was nothing common and very creative.

The title made it thrilling and strange in a positive sense; the metaphor itself is heart touching and makes the soul of the reader feel a pinch of pain piercing through the words.

    Very touching.

We Built It Up to Watch It Fall by Winter (4 points)

I loved the title, I love the form, and I loved loved this poem.

Everything about it is unique, despite the content of this poem, literature wise it really stands out!

Very powerful message, delivered in such a small piece, the ending was definitely nailed, perfectly as the opening words.

Definitely one of those poems that leave the reader with a lot of thoughts to manage in their mind.

    Well done!

    Your Moon
    By Winter

Winter made me cry a bucket of tears this week!

BEAUTIFUL word usage here within this write. I was captivated, mesmerized and blown away!
    Such a powerful word display!!

Each stanza left my jaw dropping!

Love, romance and heartbreak, encased with nature tones that are beyond my eyes comprehension.

I can't tell you how elegant and yet sorrowful this poem is. It's a richly deep poem by Winter this week and I was truly in awe!

Oh... the metaphor.....word display and entire message just had me in tears.

Powerful piece by Winter, needs to be highlighted!! (10)

    TRANSITION
    By Mnemosyne

Metaphoric elegance, with beauty wrapped into the entire presentation of this piece.

Lively words take shape in this poem such as "Pregnant" tiny bird's feet" and gun smoke.

This poem made me take several different angles. Nature tones are evident and then to capture the fun wording, I was deciphering a transition of new birth of a love or child. Then it took a twist for me in the ending.

I adore poems that take me on a twist and turn of events. The visuals left me speechless as well. Transition of shadows and silence... just wow!

The title truly sets form and shape of this piece for me.. Just lovely!! (4)
