    WINNERS:

    Slipping.
by Rings of Poetry AKA Naughtymouse
    17 pts

"A very elegantly penned use of emotion, describing a moment that will last with the reader much longer than most pieces of this nature. There's a great style here and the format is simple yet well done. Not to mention the ending absolutely blew me away while breaking my heart." (10)

"I was really drawn to the free writes this week, of such a powerful flow and this piece by Rings was incredible. Its such a sad and heart gripping poem, but the well written flow just shouts STRENGTH!

To be in darkness, to taste such bitter emotions is hard enough, but when writing those feelings and emotions the writer needs to stay focused, Rings did that and more this week!" (7)

"This poem have different aspects to be praised, starting from the title, giving me as a reader a sense of paradox, of which I'm fond, next to the coherent structure, to the very creative metaphors and genuine word choice.

Every stanza spoke of unique volumes, it reached out to me powerfully.

The 3rd stanza and last closing line were nailed and did hit me hard; without relying on dramatic sense of literature this poem was actually very emotional.

    Well done." (7)

"This poem flowed perfectly and was very skillfully written, but I also felt an honesty to it that is often rare." (4)

    by Mark Spencer

"This is divine art inspiring rhythm and rhyme my critique could never do justice to." (7)

"What a creative poem, everything about it was creative, especially its simplicity of word choice, building up plenty of morals and messages.

The rhyme scheme was nailed, just perfect.
    I was not sure about the flow in the last 2 lines, although I LOVED them and how they summed up your whole poem, but still I felt the flow was not completely free of force. It just need a little simple short touch; perhaps shortening the line into;

'Some artists only paint the world,
    While others for the Lord.'

or put your own touch to it.

Other than that I admired your piece and thought it was worthy of being highlighted." (4)

    HONORABLE MENTIONS:

    Angelic Raven
    by Konpreah
    10 pts

"This dark piece, fully shines within darkness. I was completely overpowered when reading this piece.
Konpreah left me speechless this week!

The flow and format is brilliant! Reading it out loud was like a river, just elegant. The tones and rhythm are captivating. The message is dark and it had an Edger Allen Poe feel to it... but Konpreah made this his own style and flavoring.

The wording is quite unique and I can't say enough about this piece, my 10 choice!!" (10)

    Patriot.
    by Poet on the Piano
    10 pts

"The passion in this poem is outstanding! It speaks volumes about the authors beliefs, and hopes, and how they wish they could make the world a better place. It also remains focused on writing, and the passion behind it all, the reasons for doing so. The poem has a very smooth pace to it and write an uplifting and also inspiring tone about it. The author also cleverly personifies this world, and mother nature, and the longing for peace is so captivating, it really enriches that desperation to make people live a better life, and to want more for their own life! A truly touching poem, written with the passion which is missing from many poems." (10)

    SUICIDE NOTE
    by Satish Verma
    10 pts

"When I saw the title, I wasn't very sure how I felt regarding the poem but then, I started reading...

This piece was very different and rich, it was not a very hard decision to give it the 1st place.

The imagery is very praise worthy, the whole content is original and thought provoking. It's often that we read powerful poems, but those that leave impact on the reader are not so very common and thus I really appreciated this piece.

    The closing line was very smart and effective;
well done for the writer." (10)

"The word choice is so simple in this piece but it worked so well in the piece and made something so personal into something so relateable to the outside world. This piece takes a unique tole from the usual or common use of imagery in a great way - it really made a splash this week. Great write." (7)

    Under the stairs
    by Adreamer
    7 pts

"Adreamer has brought to attention the topic of amnesia, and what a life with this illness might be like. The opening of the poem is so heart-shattering, to think that people who have loved you, continue to love you through this illness, even though you cannot love them back because you simply have no recollection of who they are. This truly highlights the illness for what it is. The clever use of the repetition was also well played for this write, I found it quite relevant to amnesia because so many things will be repeated on a daily basis trying to get someone to remember, but they will forget it all just as quickly as they learned it. Really touching write, especially when you hold that imagery of the character becoming shut away in the place they have found safe, and where at least nature makes a bit of sense to them." (7)

    A confession; an apology
    by Saerelune

"I melted this week with powerful poetry that made me skitter off on emotions of my own.
When I read this piece by Saerelune, I couldn't help but cry. She has crafted a poem of creative and unique flavor.

You feel for her... truly feel for her.. she open up this week, pouring her heart out on the table and invited us to read, but---- She dazzles me with her awesome talent of writing!

Such a talented writer!! Beautiful and touching poem by Saerelune!!" (4)

    The Heart Code
    by Avery
    4 pts

"This piece leaves the audience laughing because it takes an up and coming field of study and work to a new level. IT takes a creative tole on the logic of the computer programming and mixing it with poetry. There is a wonderful use of voice and an overwhelming display of emotion as well. Great use of formatting as well." (4)

    Fire Cures All Ailments
    By Winter
    4 pts

"I thought this poem deserved a highlight because of its beautiful creativity. The author has managed to blend a bit of love and romance, with the stunning metaphor and imagery of the flames and fire. Although fire can be overused in poetry, I found it was unique in this case and held an entirely different meaning. Fire is often used as a way of burning the past, or burning emotions inside, however, fire in this poem is used to represent healing, comfort and love. Great effort!" (4)
