What Role Does Television Play in Your Life and the Life of Your Family?

Do you have certain shows you watch? OR is it more movies or documentaries??

My family recently got Netflix since we don't have cable, so that's been our obsession. I tend to watch more TV shows than movies.

Currently trying to catch up on The Walking Dead, Dexter, and American Horror story. Those are my 3 favorite... I think I've become addicted to them lol. The other day I was up until 2 AM with The Walking Dead and kept glancing over my shoulder because I was freaked out.

What about you though??

I watch an embarrassing amount of TV...... Melpomene can back me up on this one, haha. She and I have shows we watch together (kind of lol).

I watch sitcoms, reality TV, documentaries, movies.... anything.

FYI - My dog was named Dexter after that TV show, the breeder's son watched it and wanted to call a puppy Dexter!

I don't watch TV a lot, but I do have shows that I follow. There are two or three soaps I watch, UK ones I think. I record them, and then once I home at night, usually after 9pm, I will catch up on them.

Other than those, I watch Friends and Law and Order SVU. I usually have Friends on in the background instead of music and I probably watch it at least 6 days out of 7.

Not a movie fanatic, so if you list it, chances are I probably have NOT seen it lol. I am getting better at it though!

If I could only watch one thing for the rest of my life, it most definitely would be Friends!

I watch TV shows more than movies. I don't watch shows when they air on TV because I don't find the time to sit and watch at the same time every day/week. I generally watch online at night after a big day as a way to unwind.

When I was at uni I used TV shows as background noise, for some reason it made me less stressed and surprisingly I was able to focus more.

I love comedy shows like Parks and Recreation, the Big Bang Theory, the Office and Crime shows such as Law and Order, Criminal minds.

I also get sucked in to some reality shows! Ever year Britt has me watching the US Big brother haha I watch that more than I've ever watched the Aus version!

It's a good show.... lol. That's not true. It's mindless lol.

I spend way too much time watchin PLL. Again, ask Mel. Lol

Edit: oh britt...i love PLL too...i want to even read the books... Did you read the books??? The story is quite different in the book than the show...

Yep I've read all the books - they are different than the show for sure. I prefer the show I think. It's even more twisted lol.

I love New Girl, Larry. It's one of my favourites. I got Justin hooked on it too.

Ah Pretty Little Liars, don't get Britt and I started.

I tried New Girl and just couldn't get into it.

I grew up on movies, not TV. I guess when I was a kid, I watched Thundercats and Pirates of the Dark Waters. As an adolescent, my family and I watched Xena: Warrior Princess.

It wasn't until I got my first apartment and decided to pay for Netflix that I really started watching shows.
