    Just wrote some lyrics for a dance/pop/r&b song, which I decided to change a lyric to. Which song lyric do you like better?

    Original Lyric;

    Finding someone new,
    Leaving you, (I had just previously a few lines before used leaving you, so I decided to change it to something that was the same, but different). I ended up with two lines that worked. Between these two, which one do you like better;

    1) Finding someone new,
    Saying bye, to you,

    or

    2) Finding someone new,
    Getting rid, of you,

    You would absolutely have to supply more information about the song to have a decent answer to this. All three lyrics have completely different tones.

    The tone is sassy. It's about a woman who found the man she was involved with was not all she thought. He did not have love and care for her or any woman for that matter. That he had a empty, stone heart, and his only concern was himself.

    Not a lady, but I think the second is better but not with commas.

    "getting rid of you" is a very unsympathetic way of stating your intentions, Robert. I would not write such words, if I were you!

    An Expanded look at the song, from the third verse;

    You, you are my yesterday. I'm walking, into the sun.

    Boy, with you, and all your callous ways, don't you know I am, so done.

    See, I'm leaving you.

    You are too aloof.

    How can I hold your love, with nothing to hold to?

    You don't love me dear,

    That is, so clear,

    So, I'm sorry boy, I'm out of here,

    Finding someone new,

    Saying bye, to you, (or) getting rid of you,

    Because now, I know, that your love's no good.

    And if you asks me why,

    I'll tell you I

    No longer want, to waste my time

    On someone who doesn't love me true,

    On a man, with a Stone Love, like you.

    So there you are, an expanded look at the song. Which lyric choice do you think works better?

    Getting rid of you works better with the rest of the lyrics.

    How about:

    Finding someone new,

    Walk away from you,

    Because now, I know, that your love's no good.

    (I feel' getting rid' of someone sounds so cold and hard!!!)

    I think getting rid of you sounds very sassypants, and I like it if thats the tone you're looking for. It's a bit cold, but from the rest of the lyrics it seems like you'd feel cold!

    I'll consider "Walking away from you," Ingrid.

    I dunno. It sounds like a country lady ballad to me, a la Gunpowder and Lead by Miranda Lambert or Before He Cheats. I kind of like that fierce female "get rid of you" spirit in a song, emotions aren't tame, why should words be?

    It is just one opinion, Robert, the other ladies have valid points too:)

    Good luck with the song!

    Looks kike "Getting rid, of you" is the final lyric choice.
