    A few quotes on healing:

    "The soul always knows what to do to heal itself. The challenge is to silence the mind." - Caroline Myss

    "It has been said, 'time heals all wounds.' I do not agree. The wounds remain. In time, the mind, protecting its sanity, covers them with scar tissue and the pain lessens. But it is never gone."
    - Rose Kennedy

    "Poetry heals the wounds inflicted by reason."
    - Novalis

    A poem with a point:

    "Time does not bring relief; you all have lied"
    By Edna St. Vincent Millay

    Time does not bring relief; you all have lied
    Who told me time would ease me of my pain!
    I miss him in the weeping of the rain;
    I want him at the shrinking of the tide;
    The old snows melt from every mountain-side,
    And last year's leaves are smoke in every lane;
    But last year's bitter loving must remain
    Heaped on my heart, and my old thoughts abide.
    There are a hundred places where I fear
    To go,--so with his memory they brim.
    And entering with relief some quiet place
    Where never fell his foot or shone his face
    I say, "There is no memory of him here!"
    And so stand stricken, so remembering him.

    And now, the poet:

    "Throughout much of her career, Pulitzer Prize-winner Edna St. Vincent Millay was one of the most successful and respected poets in America... Like her contemporary Robert Frost, Millay was one of the most skillful writers of sonnets in the twentieth century, and also like Frost, she was able to combine modernist attitudes with traditional forms creating a unique American poetry."

    Wow, that first quote really resonates with me.

    Really makes one reflect about what is often heard "time heals all wounds", and the challenges of remembering a love, if they are simply a memory to move on from or one to keep alive.

    Rosaura read this post.
    It touched her deeply in her own grief.

    Thank you, Jane.

    Sometimes the greatest kindness you can give someone is a thank you.
    You are welcome, Larry. All my best to Rosaura.
