    Edit part three

I confess I have spent a lot of time on a largely unmoderated forum ,but even those have a line drawn (not a clear line )

In that forum a member can send a ticket to the administration and mods

Then there is the suggestion boards

I miss the drama a little, but this site has never really been inactive

Continued from locked thread....answer to a question

(Is this what retirement homes are like?)

I hope and pray that no one has to find out what they are like :(

I got to find out first hand when I was 43. My family was told they had a clinic in one that could help my disability. So I was sent there....found out after the fact....that the clinic closed months before.....I was used to fill a bed...so here I was hours away from my family all alone...left laying in a room. No one came to get me out of bed...no chair in my room to sit in....took my pills in bed ate my meals in bed, no human contact except the person that brought what I was supposed to have...well one day I got to a phone called my mom told her what was happening.....she came right away and got me....so I really hope you or anyone you love never have to go there...it is a very dark and lonely place.

I'm sorry to hear that Cindy. Here I was under the impression that retirement homes were supposed to be the opposite, at least as per TV ads. Then soap operas depict them how they truly are in some places.

The whole gang is back eh, it's nice to see some familiar faces. Welcome back. I've still got a bit of a hole in my heart though, where's Nor?

I feel like I've stepped into a time machine. Didn't realise we were still rehashing some past problems. I'm all for talking about past PnQ, I'm just not sure why we bother. Past PnQ seems to bring out the Debbie in us all.

I've always said PnQ feeds off the debates and discussions so hopefully we can have this amount of activity seep outside of this thread and in to others. If you're bored check out the writing poetry thread, I've been throwing out some fun writing prompts.

Very surprised with all these writers and bright minds there isn't any threads on the upcoming election, the smear campaigns, the issues and the message being sent by the American people with the popularity of Trump, who in m y own opinion would be a disaster......

    Michael :
"It was like the movie Robin Williams was in "Awakenings," for a while, now we will all return to our states of coma"

    haha true!!

Some of us were so desperate to go back to the beloved coma.
I think in the state of awakening, any pitch higher than the ones of "how do do 's" motion, reflects like commotion, it is like hitting the patients with hammer in their brain, it is like swashing their state of emotion.

    Jane here.

Cindy, I'm also sorry to hear how terrible the retirement home you stayed at was... the only decent ones are hugely expensive. My parents will live with me when and if they're ever ready. I don't think anyone in my family has ever been put in a home.

Though when I cracked the joke, I was imaging a bunch of 80-somethings sitting around playing cards, being served by young nurses, and getting in loud, meaningless arguments that they'd forget about after 10 minutes.

Trump. That clown gets more media attention than he deserves as it is. I hate to pay him any mind at all. His campaign is a joke and a smear on politics, even if he's working for the Democratic Party and planning to pull out before election time.

I'm sorry, but I have to speak up here, Jane. Don't be so sure about him pulling out. You guys did vote for Reagan (an actor) and the Terminator to be a governor. Politics is theatre, and in theatre, anything is possible.......
My own personal opinion is that Trump really would be a disaster....

Well I never !... looks like there's been some sort of feeding frenzy by a few old timers that have re-joined. A couple of which I thought I would never see again. If nothing else this forum will be a bit more active for a bit....

Yeah the penalty box, what a great concept stanley......only hockey fans would get that

as for nursing homes, I worked in one for two years as an orderly of all things, loved it actually, I hope when it's my time or if I ever need to be in one, I am treated the same way I treated my clients.....

I hope you never have to go to one Bob :( you know me I found a way out...lol...My mom always worked with the elderly..she told me she took care of each one like they were a family member....but thats not always how it is.

Jane I know you were cracking a joke.....no hard feelings....Just sometimes when you hear certain things they cut deep....but that was a long time ago.
