Hey Halloweenies!

What are you (or your kiddos) going to be for Halloween this year?

It's our Halloween party at work, and I am a 50's housewife - I have a floral, 50's style dress, an apron, rubber gloves, and of course pearls. <3 My seniors at work are all asking where I found my dress, hahaha!

So what are you? What are you doing? Any fun plans?

Britt - where did you get that dress? :)

I love the 50s - great time. Musically, especially.
I wish I had grown up in that decade.

Normal games round here with the kids, scary pumpkins, dressing up as witches/werewolves etc. And being woken up by the bloody fireworks.....

    All the best everyone
    Ben

That sounds fun Britt! And cute!

Ben, my mom says she misses having little kids in the house cause she loves that stuff.

All of us stayed home today to make cupcakes and other treats while watching old reruns of halloween episodes of our favorite shows :) And tomorrow we have a huge Halloween party to go to, so its exciting around here.

Ben, it's actually coming back in style, and I already had it prior to knowing what my costume would be! Haha. I have pictures galore, maybe I'll update my profile pic! Oh fun! I'll mess around with that.

Ben you don't like fireworks? Hahaha

Aww I love the reruns and parties! That sounds like so much fun!

    Britt, awesome dress!
True 50s housewives ( a la Donna Reed & The Beaver's mom) also wore high heels while doing housework.

Ben, Halloween is one of our few holidays without fireworks. But then you've got Guy Fawks day coming so I guess it makes sense.

All of our kids are moved away or gone for the weekend. So Rosaura and I will probably just give out candy with our grand dog Rowdy. He loves it!

    I'm rocking conservative 2 inch peep-toe heels, Larry! :)

Coming back you say, Britt? I'll be sure to get my own wardrobe updated then!
I don't mind fireworks, but I do so love an early night these days as I push into my 30s....
    All the best everyone.

Housework in heels?! Buy whhhyyyy? You're gonna make me cry.

I was going to be Alice in wonderland and Kevin was going to be the Cheshire Cat. Then we realized we have no money.
I'm gonna dig around in old costumes/clothes today and figure something out. You've inspired me, Britt!
I guess I should buy candy for the kids today too.

Britt you are so Rockin it in that outfit, love it. As for me and mine, my kids are older so no dressing up here. It's homecoming week so they dressed up all week in traditional standard things they do every year. Tacky tourist, character day, mourning day, and favorite team day. They had the annual burning effigy of other teams mascot etc. Game tonight. We live in such a rural area we don't get trick or treaters, we have things at the church called trunk or treat. Don't have to buy candy for others and don't get to steal my kids Reese cups either. Wahhhh

Ben, if it isn't, it should be. I'm bringing it back. I LOVE 50's style, which is no shock to those on PnQ who say I'm a Stepford wife, hahaha. I can't imagine the housework in heels. Lets be honest, those women were in yoga pants and slippers until it was time and they got fancy before anyone came home. ha!

Yay Jane, you can throw something cheap together! Just find a post it note, stick some all over you and be a bulletin board lol

The 50s were ok, but you can't believe 50s television.

Except Howdy-Doody - you must believe everything on that show.

    You MUST!

The radar shows a clearing in my area though there have been no trick or treats kids walking down the road ,or my dog would have alerted me lol

It rained earlier but cleared about 2 pm. Still it was deserted until sunset, then all demons broke loose. We not only ran out of candy, we ran out of our stashed candy, too.
