*Kitchen Table Gossip by Dixiedaisy
What a wonderful poem filled with nostalgia. I think would
Bring back many memories for so many of our readers.
I know it did for me, a time I still like to visit in my mind.
Vintage creamer cow paired
with matching sugar dish,
serve as centerpieces
for table and for gossip
long before computers would
This stanza just brings such a excellent picture to the
minds eye. Where everything centered around the kitchen
table and cups of coffee. The creamer and matching sugar
bowl sat on many of our grandmother's or mother's tables.
A place the children were shooed out of...lol Thank you
Dixiedaisy for the trip down memory lane. (10 points)
* Kitchen Table Gossip by Dixiedaisy
How many of us have sat by as kids ear hustling adult
conversations, it's how we became educated, how we
learned all the hand me down traditions, the silly clichés ,
"The grown talks" and we listened, wandered off imaging
the days when we would sit at the table or be invited
because we were now considered grown, we lived for
such an epic time and place...well you couldn't bring it
much more to life than this write did, it was nostalgic
and really took me back to those days when the elders
taught me so much without even knowing it...... (4 points)
* Kitchen Table Gossip by Dixiedaisy
For a contest inspired piece this really hit home with a lot
of people this week. A wonderful piece written with honesty
and excellent description - so much to the point we all
thought we were in that kitchen with the author and her
mom. The title is captivating and the style is interestingly
used to create a moment - a scene that has such deep
meaning to not only the author but now the readers as
well. (10 points)

It's so refreshing and a pleasure to have Dixiedaisy
writing and posting again, this poem is beautiful! This
poem takes the reader to the comforts of home, to
the simplistic moments that at the time seam ritual but
when a loved one passes on, these are the moments to
be cherished and preserved, into an elegant poem such
as this piece. Her attention to imagery and detail is
wonderfully displayed within each and every stanza. I
do love the classy wording she has used within this piece!
Powerful and emotional poem as well. Just beautiful!!

*Stained Apron by Maple Tree
So many memories contained within this
write. The smells, feelings, visions paint
a wonderful picture for the readers' minds eye.
Grandmother Dorthy,
her apron stained with
my childish tears and
I still remember the
fabric, and the feeling
it gave me after it left
my cheek.
I think so many readers can
feel the unconditional love
of a grandmother. How they could
make anything better.
I give thanks for memories,
aromas that will never leave
stained aprons, and that abandoned
farm in Kansas....
It could be a farm in Kansas, a house on a hill in
West Virginia or a beach house in Mexico.
Most readers childhood memories take
them back to a simpler time and place.
I truly enjoyed this delightful piece. (4 points)
*Stained Apron by Maple Tree
What a joyful and reminiscent poem about longing for
the past. You have created a lovely picture with your
poetry, one that symbolizes youth and a harder way of
life than what many have come accustomed to in this era
of hustle and bustle. The title ties in beautifully with the
poem. The poem allowed me to visualize things as they
were told. (10 points)

*Toxic by Saerelune
I took into consideration that this writer probably
using English as a second language, (don't we all
sometimes...lol) therefore I could forgive some of
the Grammar issues. The poem itself spoke volumes in
many different avenues when it comes to alcohol and
alcoholism, and how easily one could find themselves at
the bottom of a bottle, while becoming "toxic" to
themselves as well as those around them. I'm actually
going to share this poem with a bunch of teenagers in
the town I live in, where poverty and alcoholism runs
rampant, and where underage drinking is tradition
and accepted, but we don't realize the end cost to our
children when they become adults.....that being said, I
loved the "substance" of this write, the clear message
and definitely the way it was presented. It left me
intoxicated. (10 points)

This is amazing, nearly everyone understands at least
the basis of this at some point in their life and the fact
that you pulled in so many elements of both real and
mythical nature makes it that much more relate-able
because even if we don't share your exact story, no
one would ever know. You weren't overly specific at all
so the balance of keeping your audience interested
and getting out of your own head was effortlessly on point.
A truly wonderful write from a completely unique poet.

*The Tidy Gardener by Mr Darcy
As adoring of funny poems as I am, I couldn't let this
slip through. Quite uniquely you also slipped in an acrostic
to sound out comically the noise the rake made. I
literally laughed at this poem. Huge smiles and great
write, thanks for the laugh. (4 points)
* The Tidy Gardener by Mr Darcy
Treading amongst
Herbaceous boarders;
Walking through long
Ample grasses...
Crash!! A thousand sudden stars:
Kissed by my garden rake.
This little poem is priceless.
We need more laughter in our lives and this
leaves the reader laughing. How many of us haven't
walked into that closed door, stood up and hit our
head on an open cupboard door. The image of the
writer strolling through the garden flowers and grasses
and very unexpected kiss by that darn rake. Just the
vision hit me like the rake. Loved it! (7 points)

Orphism by Michael D Nalley
Michael has written an impressive poem this week, I
was eager to read this poem because he has a favorable
way of making rhyme flow.. He nailed this piece with
tasteful and lovely rhyme. His title ties the poem in to a
tee..
Religious beliefs are always such a hot topic throughout
the world these days and I admire his banding together of
all and one. Political poems can often become tedious,
but not this poem and it actually gave me goose bumps.
Very powerful!! (7 points)

Storms of Silence by Baby Rainbow
Saffie, is one of the top emotional writers on this sight.
This lovely lady writes from the heart and soul of her
being in every line. A very captivating poem. Running
from darkness and losing control, sight of a love can
be devastating and she captures the core feelings within
this poem. truly elegant, sorrowful and touching!! (4 points)

Mondays @ 9 by Poet on the Piano
Loved the beginning to the poem and how descriptive
as though it was almost a job you were referring to
attending. Then, hence the title, a weekly chore, one
to release emotions, thoughts, feelings and the latest
happenings. What I adored most was that there was
never a mention of it actually being a psychiatrist but
that the scene was described so it didn't have to be told.
A lovely poetess once told me " you don't have to tell
everything you know" that it's for the reader to determine.
That is why I love this poem. (7 points)

Starving Artist by Dagmar Wilson
His name should be Dagman, why did you paint such a
clear and vivid picture...lol.....had me hungry and wanting
more.
You've picked me up
from the ground
brought me joy,
the one I didn't know life could hold,
you've inspired me to live my dream.
My dream was to be a painter
portraying life in multiple colors,
instead I am a starving artist
with an never ending hunger.
My hands still tinkle
becoming aroused by the smell of fresh paint,
ready to throw on this plain empty wall.
Looking from far
your eyes can't see through mine,
this mixture of emotions is like an explosion
my mouth couldn't speak.
How could you not love this, "brushed" on with so
much emotion, he made it like he could be really talking
about art and painting, or love, or simply life, it was
truly thought provoking, the second stanza was Poe
and Monet all rolled into one.....I loved it. (7 points)

There is something so inviting about the note at the end
of this and how it was written or inspired through titles
of your other works and yet it remains honest and open
with nothing less than pure sincerity. It is also so stunning
to see how a few words from yourself at a variety of
emotional times managed to be compiled into something
so kind and gentle. So much talent and creativity thrive
within this write. Excellently done. (4 points)
