    I want to talk
    about what happened
    without mentioning
    how much it hurt.
There has to be a way.
    To care for the wounds
    without reopening them.
    To name the pain
    without inviting it back
    into me.

I agree Helen, but even so, it's very descriptive and even poetic, hey, writing ones emotion is better than suicide, or holding it in.........

I wasn't meaning to sound bitchy so...sorry if it came across that way. Yakz...you have highlighted some really amazing poems in the past so this one just seemed a bit tame in comparison , that was all I meant.

"If I'm entirely honest, and you say I must be I want to stay with you all afternoon evening, night and tomorrow pressed into you so tightly that we don't know whose belly made what sound, whose heart it is that is thumping like that until I don't know if the sweat on my chest is yours or mine or ours."

I love the bit about naming the pain without inviting it back to you..

So often we shove feelings and pain aside without properly dealing with them or processing them like we should. When it comes time to finally deal with that pain and those hurts... boom! It's back, and we're re-experiencing it.

Love that one you just posted too!
