Waiting for a bird to sing-27

A poem for her by GB-14

    When with you I lay-20

    COMMENTS:

Waiting for a bird to sing by Karla Bardanza

I love poems about poetry, it's like a reflection of the
reflection, this one was dazzling and was very descriptive
as to why many people write.....It wasn't as painful as
intended, which meant the writer found some sense of
solace in her words.......very nice. (10 points)

Waiting for a bird to sing by Karla Bardanza

    The leaf waits for me
    like a woman in love:
    naked, eager, languid.

^^This got me from the very first go! I liked the imagery
of a woman waiting, yearning just like a leaf, for me I
could picture the leaves in Fall. Till the end this poem
has been like a song of a maiden lost in her world of
so many wishes entwined with pain. The language is
simple making each stanza come alive and be felt. A
lovely and sentimental write! (7 points)

Waiting for a bird to sing by Karla Bardanza

Karla's poem this week is breathtaking! Her brilliant
and elegant metaphoric display of the leaf was truly out
of this world. The sorrow and madness of the world
and events can be felt within each and every line,
    just beautiful! (10 points)

A Poem for Her by GB

Such a touching poem which has all the ingredients of
what relationships are all about with what if's. Within
this though there is much pain, doubts as well as
heartaches to deal with and its like the author is the only
one who can narrate her story for she has witnessed it
all and know its truth. (10 points)

When with You I Lay (Diatelle) by Meena Krish

I really like this form. Meena has done a wonderful job.
The images it leaves in the readers mind are so sad
and pain filled. The flow is great and the rhyme is not
forced at all. It gave me chills as I read it. I got the
feeling of someone very sad in their relationship. Wanting
to leave yet stuck there. Either by emotion or
    force. (10 points)

When with you I lay (diatelle) by Meena Krish

Delightful read. Forms tend to be a little difficult
especially adhering to the rules is increasingly painful
to match. As for subject matter, all I can say is, WOW!
I normally don't care for sad poetry but, this poem just
had the punch in the gut of memories. Reminds me
of Adele's song "hello" for some reason. Wonderful write! (10 points)

Lanterns of the Lost Souls by Poet on the piano & Maple Tree

    COMMENTS:

Sleeps well the earth by cassie Hughes

I adore nature poetry, especially when it envelops
the reader with a feeling of being there. I personally
would like to see this broken up a bit into some stanzas
to help with the fluidity of the poem. For example like
with "the earth turns" standing on its own. Other than
that personal suggestion, the poem has beauty and
depth. My favorite part of the poem is " snuggled
under natures blanket, crisp and starched she bides"
because it lets the reader feel the craziness of the earth
and allows for description of the snow being crisp and
starched like a cool set of sheets must feel when wrapped
on a cold night. Lovely write. (7 points)

Sleeps Well the Earth by Cassie hughes

The nights are closing in and winter
stretches out cool fingers to caress
the weary earth and bid her rest.
    Sleep beckons,

This really brings such beautiful images to the readers.
The Earth resting after the summer and the fall. Winter
beckons the rest of the plants and the animals. In the
quiet stillness of the winter months. The trees roots,
plants, and wildlife all burrowed under the ground.
Until it is once again awakened by the kiss of the
    spring Sun. (4 points)

Border Patrol in the Wild West by Jordan

Jordan captivated the readers this week. His short,
powerful and dramatic edge of wording is beyond
powerful. He captures the true sorrow behind world
devastation. Powerful and small poem with
    great impact! (7 points)

Giving up - When Love Breaks You by Dead Soul

Dead Soul has written a touching and heartfelt poem
this week, with a flow that can be swayed to while
reading and yet the heartache can be felt in every
word. Powerful poem from the heart and soul! (4 points)

Giving up - When Love Breaks You by Dead Soul

The title pulled me to read more. It's so true so very
true that when love breaks there is this hopeless
feeling which drains one's very strength and it leaves
you all broken along with confusion.

Love is a weapon and the weak are forced to yield
Under its unrelenting brutality, we are slaves
As I was to her, happily, it hurts more than any wound
Embraced with a smile that once turned sour
I've paid my debt at this time and hour.

^^This stanza stood out for me the most for it really
shows what that feeling is and what it does to a person
who has giving all his love to that one just to see love
walk out leaving you dripping sorrow's blood...a
    moving write. (4 points)

Before it begun by Yakari Gabriel

Such sadness in such poetic ebullience. Speaking volumes
of sadness that can be related to recent world events as
well as other events. I don't know if it was intentional
that the poet said "they used to be plenty of it" instead
of ....there used to be plenty of it. I know in some
languages some do not use English as a first hand
language and therefore confuse words. Regardless, I took
it as intentional because it seemed that's how the
writer intended it. Awesome, powerful write. (4 points)

As Autumn Invites Winter In by Adreamer

What a beautiful poem this is. I love the view point of
the flower. The sadness as the fall is leaving with a long
cold winter on its way. The flower wanting to hold on
to everyday it can. Even making offerings of itself. Saying
a long goodbye.....means the cold frozen ground will
tuck the flower bulb in for the winter. Then the joy of
rebirth in the spring. What a way to end November.

Lanterns of lost souls by poet on the piano & Maple Tree

I was really pressed between this one and waiting for a
bird to sing, but decided to use both the lower votes due
to it having two Authors and it was that good it deserved
two votes......this poem was strong from beginning to
end and was a sensational read when one considers what
is going on in the world today....."Children should always be remembered".....Terrific write you two. (7&4 points)
