"Rituals of the Evening" by: GB

"Breathtaking title that forms nicely into a lovely and elegant little nature gem!

Hesperides : The three nymph daughters of night or light.. Greek mythology at it's finest displayed.

What a magical, mystical and dazzling poem this is. very creative and true elegance comes to life in just a few lines. I was captivated with this poem, just brilliant!" (10)

"Nature poems are hit and miss, but this one is elegant even in simplicity. There is a beautiful scene here that could embody so many different reactions depending on who is reading, and that to me is honestly one of the most important things before you can have a truly well penned poem. The audience can find their own meaning in this or make their own associations towards the scene so that's lovely. Then back to the simplicity, something so extremely wonderful and profound in its own ways was just presented in a total of 15 words (yes that includes the title, because title is part of the story.) That alone takes talent. "Rituals of the Evening" is a great example of how phenomenal the short pieces can still be." (7)

    "Raeleionha Roxanne Rosetta" by: Ssenevol

"Wow, what a deep an interesting write! I could see the poem playing out in my own mind and though you may not have intended it, I believe a poem that creates its own storyline within a readers mind is excellent. It reminded me of the "Once upon a time" series and I could for some reason picture this as a wicked snow white. The wording, flow, and rhythm are definitely in sync with the poems climax and descending point." (10)

"What a unique poem. The imagery and flow are very good. The metaphors and subject matter leave the reader with pictures still in the mind's eye long after the poem is read. I really enjoyed this piece." (7)

    "Unchanging Plight" by: Meena Krish

"Oh Meena's format with emotion comes to life once again this week! This lady has such a gift of pure emotion in her writing.

Her first three words, set the tone of this piece and I love how she formatted this poem, it just reads beautifully.

This poem is so deep and powerful that the reader is left speechless. Its a message of humanity gone wrong in my opinion... the plight of the world and how judgment can lead to darkness. A short poem that holds such a powerful meaning and message. Deserves to be highlighted!" (7)

"Once again Meena has penned a very sad and heartbreaking poem. Her wording is very strong. Leaving this reader with tears. Some people can't or won't change their view of life no matter how much they are hurting someone else." (4)

    COMMENTS:

    "Warmth" by: Ernest Johnson

"What a lovely write. Love the fact you used sacrosanct place, because it doesn't always have to be a church, mosque, or prayer house that helps you find your peace. I feel that way about nature, it makes everything right again in my inner sanctum." (7)

    - - - - - - - -

"Simplistic elegance this week by Ernest. I do love his pure emotion and thought, intertwined within a touch of rhyme here and there. It's a lovely inspirational and spiritual poem.. just wonderful !" (4)

"I want to make the mistake... [Prose]" by: Everlasting

"Prose is great because it is so freeing and there are so few restrictions which allows us to be exactly who we are and say anything we want. Because there's nothing to get in our way, no structure, word choice, nothing matters except our voice and the things rolling around in our heads. This piece is beautiful it has such amazingly vividly unique imagery that is still part of what is being said. Each new sentence is a mix of hopefulness and sorrow that the other person has become so guarded. Then the end hits you. It's gorgeous but it takes a moment to swallow. It's a little hard to take, but just like the author's hopes with this other person, it is completely worth it. Stunning write." (10)

"As she protects herself" by: Karla

"There was so much within this poem, initially I thought of the statue of liberty, of all the women throughout history, and all their trials and tribulations of being oppressed by man and what they've had to endure just to be acknowledged, just to have their place among mankind rather than a slave unto it. A peasant to do a mans bidding , should she be fortunate enough to be chosen for such, ah but times have changed, except in different cultures and yet they too shall persevere and overcome. A painful read, and yet our historic reality....nicely done." (10)

"Damaged goods (Waltz Wave) by: Mr Darcy

"Michael did a wonderful job with this form. I love the imagery using the dark category. Even though it isn't a soothing subject it did exactly what the Waltz Wave is supposed to do." (10)

    "Winter Tombs" by: Ms. Sunshine

"Poems like these don't receive much fanfare anymore because we get too caught up in the misery of each others lives and the sad plight of the world, but this right here is what poetry is about, a vividly detailed description of the process of nature, as fall turns to winter, the writers pen shall bloom, and this Author did exactly that. Awesome job." (7)

"A sheet of Paper's Gallant Effort" by: Ben Pickard

"The style here is interesting even though some of the rhymes feel forced, it is a well written piece. The voice comes through very clearly and the ideas that were intended are also very easy to pick out. There is a sense of being overly honest here (reminding me of someone with writer's block, staring at the page and going what's next? 'Well, there's paper in front of me. What can I say about that?) Only this is a little different because it feels intentional. It feels like there was a lot of heart in soul in this - more like the author was trying to justify his craft. And really I think that's what captivated me so much. The search that occurs within these few stanzas, it's a simple, but unforgettable journey."(4)

    "Still Echoes" by: Cassie Hughes

"These times we are experiencing throughout the world, the barbaric destruction of one another through so much hate and anger, will leave an echo for eons , (history captures everything)....this writer has captured this thoroughly...enjoyed." (4)

    "Cold" by: Maher

"Such a sad and heartbreaking write. Seems nothing can be done to please anyone, the wolf is always at the door. You have penned some outstanding imagery. I felt like this poem depicted scenes from world war two and the relation of the date written. Though the title made me think of the cold war, which happened after the fact of the prior. Despicable thoughts of wartime are imminently displayed throughout this write. No matter the children, they will die too. I hope my interpretation of your intent is correct, however, if not, then it relates very well to what I thought and is an excellent write." (4)
