And then becomes a stage...

Where you just think..F**k it...over the past months I've really tried to keep this site alive with different posts but..now...yeah...I'm over it all now...so yeah...

Hellon. I agree entirely with your damning sentiment here - you really do put in a lot of effort on these threads and too few others (myself included) try hard enough.
However, I try my hardest everyday to leave a number of comments on peoples' work as I feel that is at least as important as the threads but too few others do that. I'm going to be honest, I think most people on this site (not all) could do a lot more in encouraging people (especially new members) to write and stick around simply by commenting/advising. People don't bother to comment enough, full stop.
I'm currently going through some poems by a member that are wonderful; they've been posted for a couple of months, and there's barely a comment on them. This person's work should have been commented on/given more time.
Hellon, very few people on this site do enough and that is the sad truth. But, personally speaking, I think the site desperately needs your input so hang around if you can! Not to mention your wonderful poetry.
    All the best

    Finals are over!

or for some there should soon be over. So there might be more participation.

Hellon, I definitely understand your frustrations. Seems you have been a staying power around here and credit is due for your attempts at keeping things together. I, too, felt the site was dwindling years ago as most of us whom have been around have noticed the lack of participation, especially recently. I don't know how I did it but managed to stay away for a couple of years and only periodically come on. There was a time in my life when this site held all my free time and even a lot of my not so free time. I would find myself staying up extremely late and getting up early just to spend hours upon hours on this site alone. Even though I have only ever met in person one from this site (billy rob), I spoke to many on the phone and some I still talk to very often. This site was a huge part of my life, and still is. I do realize that it is not as active as it used to be, and probably will never be. My wishes are that you continue to be as active as you have been. Your Christmas contest had many entries and though the site will never be what it was, it certainly can be what you have helped stay together.

    Don't give up trying!
New people are finding their way to the site and discussion boards, but I have noticed that not many people are welcoming the newcomers that introduce themselves in the 'Meet the community members' forum. Although they may be far and few between, maybe if we tried to make an effort welcoming new people, the site may one day thrive like it used to?

    Hi Hellon,
I am sorry you feel this way. To be honest I understand your frustration. People moan about how quiet it is on P&Q then dont bother with all the effort.
I have been rather preoccupied of late, but I do appreciate all you and others do. Please dont give up. Have a break if you need to, but do come back. ((Hugs))

Hellon, I agree with all the sentiments above. Thanks for all the threads you start and contests. Please don't feel it's a one person show. There's just an abundance of reticence.

I will hold my hands up

I do not comment or participate as much as I used to.

People comment on my stuff, I used to return the favour every time. Now I forget.

    Now the excuse.....

I have a week left to finish a stone roses painting for a customer. I am finding that all my spare time is thrown into this, some nights I am up till 1am. It has taken me two months so far and I am 2 thirds done. (The maths don't bode well for getting it finished)

Once this is done I will try and comment at least a couple of times a week and hopefully partake in site competitions.

All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players: they have their exits and their entrances; and one man in his time plays many parts, his acts being seven ages.

Ben, please share the poet you're referencing so we can check out their work.

Hellon, I appreciate you and all you do for this site. You are often the driving force behind activity and excitement, and you're so consistently active, it's amazing. Thank you from all of us.
