Thoughts please? I'm virtually being forced to accept..so far I haven't but..it's a matter of time I think. People who have got it already hate it even more than the current one so...opinions please??

If you can, stay with Microsoft 7... Jim repairs and rebuilds computers for a living. Those who have 10, remove it within days...

You can say no to 10..there is a way to remove the pop up for upgrade but it is sort of difficult.

Just say no to 10..not worth the headache.

My computer whiz friend says the same.

Wonder why they're giving it away for free. They never did that before.

Exactly Larry... That's a warning sign right there.

I'm keeping to my Windows 7, as I've heard some problems with 10, and I don't want the hassle of trying to get the PC back working again, after this download.
Got bitten on a recent Iphone Operating system upgrade, which stopped my phone working just as I was driving to the airport, and had to spend two weeks abroad without a working phone, so am always now suspicious of these type upgrades whether for PC windows or phones.

I believe my mom was told the same and is keeping Windows 7.

    Interesting.

I never wanted to leave windows 95

I have 10, I fell for the 'free' part of the deal.

Touch wood I have had no problems so far.

just takes a little getting used to.

Downloaded it and never looked back. No problems whatsoever with it!

    Peter,
My daughter upgraded her iPhone5 to ios 9 & it drains her battery constantly. Where she used to be able to go 5-6 hours on a charge she now goes 2+ hours so long as she only texts; talking or browsing cuts it in less than an hour.

She was told by an AT&T rep that the ios9 is designed for the iPhone6.

    Ingrid & Darren,
What advantages or new features came with the Micro10?

    Larry

The only advantage I have found is that my computer seems to run quicker. It does seem more suited to a tablet rather than a desktop pc though.

Apart from that, I haven't really noticed much. The layout is different and somethings take a while to figure out, (such as shutting the system down)

The fact that it cost nothing was the deal breaker for me.

I second all Darren said, Larry. My PC is much quicker now, and getting to know the new system takes very little time. I have not experienced any discomfort and it is 100 % free, so why not?

I had issue after issue and ended up getting rid of it. I swear it depends on what computer you're using. Seems older comps can't keep up or something.

Andrea...I'd love to know how to remove the pop up. It's appearing 3-4 times a day and is most annoying.

Also, I have Windows 8, which was on the computer when I bought it but, I hate it and would love to remove it and go back to the much more user friendly 7 but, I don't know how to do it???

Microsoft is trying very hard to catch up to IOS, OSX and Android! 10 is not a bad system if you run your eyes through the command system you could recognize it. The fault lies in the 3rd party hardware!
Thats why Apple is Superior... I mean Apple is just WORKING every time you turn it on lol

My big issue remains: I have Windows 7 Pro and I would have to drop several programing features to get a general release. (Or at least I suspect I would. - More investigation needed.)

I have 10 and until now I haven't had a problem. They've put back the start bar back. It's kind of weird having it back as I was used to the start screen, or whatever you call it. I guess part of me was imagining screening through the apps with my hands on a hologram... It seemed futuristic to me.

    Hey Hellon

I think they brought out a free windows 10 to replace windows 8 which is a fiasco.

Windows 10 is an improvement on 8, so i would go with the free upgrade if i was you, but only if your computer is newish (an old computer would struggle to run 10) but if you brought one that came with 8 it would be fine to upgrade

unfortunately you cant go back to windows 7 from 8, Microsoft have since blocked that option, if that was an option it would be the one to take. When we upgraded our computers here I brought Dell made in Malaysia which came with an option to be built using windows 7, (the best and most user friendly operating system i've ever run) as all computers sold within Australia only came with windows 8 which is a crap system

Incidentally my daughter thinks windows is crap compared to Apple, she uses both, i never have, but i think windows is more business orientated...

    my 5 cents worth

Thanks for that Nicko...people have given mixed opinions about Windows 10 so I'm still unsure if it's for me although my computer is under a year old so still fairly newish. Today, so far, I've had 15 pop-ups to upgrade..I think I'm slowly being forced to install it....computer seems to be slowing down a little every day.
