Thoughts and prayers please.

Please send thoughts and prayers to our beloved Anna. She is truly one of the best friends I have ever had the pleasure of knowing, even though we've never met.. She is in ICU right now after having a stroke. She has a brain bleed they haven't attributed wether it is due to stroke or fall yet. She is not communicating too much as they are trying to keep her sedated. If she makes it through this she will kick my ass for letting everyone know this. But, I don't care, I love her and I am heartbroken for my dear friend. Please say a prayer for her. Thanks, Kay

Thanks Bob, I will do exactly that. Her daughter is going to call me in morning and hold phone to her ear.

Very sad news Kay but...I've always considered Anna as a tough lady who will not give up without a fight. When she gets through this she'll probably write a funny poem about it and move right on....give her my best wishes when you speak tomorrow.

I know Anna is always sharp as a tack so ask her this question please Kay...I sent her a gift a couple of years ago...two words..each have three letters..one consonant in each and also each have two vowels...

That's really a sad news on the beginning of a year. Although I don't know her, but still I'll surely pray for her.

Doesn't look like I can talk to her today. She is very lethargic and the CT scan is same as it was yesterday. Praying maybe tomorrow.

Kay when we talked I was in shock. My thoughts and prayers are with Anna and her family. She is such a wonderful lady. Sometimes we can be as close if not closer to people we have never had the pleasure of meeting then ones we know. Tell Anna when you do talk to her I love her and she has to come home so we can complain to each other. Please take care of yourself also.

You know what mods...you really need to be ashamed of yourselves that only one of you (and it's Maryanne who admits she doesn't know Anna) has responded. Anna is a stalwart of the P&Q community. I know her profile says she joined in 2011 which makes her a 'newby' in some eyes but...history will take her way back to 2006/7...when...like me she took a 'forced' break and then came back with a vengeance. Ill health has kept this lovely lady from contributing much over the years but...when she comes back..she always does so with elegance and...humour..yeah..ok..sarcastic humour I know but...that is why I love the lady so much...

Most of you Mods have been on here from 2006 onwards so pull you fingers out guys...Anna needs all the support she can get from every corner of the world...

Anna has been a member for a very long time, supportive and caring. I'm lighting a candle for her and I hope her precious light will grace this site once again. Lots of hugs and love from me and this site.

I was thinking the same thing Hellon, let an argument break out or a difference of opinion on something trivial and everyone has something to say, but when one needs well wishes, mums the word, you claim participation is bad, lead by example, a good example........

First I logged on since the 30th. Very upset to hear about Anna. I have always liked and respected her.
Please pass on my own wishes for her recovery, Kay, and thanks for letting us know.

I don't think this is the time or place to shame mods/members (anyone) for not posting condolences quickly enough. I've been hosting 8 people at my place since Monday and haven't had a moment to myself. This is my first time reading this thread.

I am so sad to hear Anna is in the hospital, however, if anyone can pull through this, it's her. That woman is tough as nails. Please give her our love and prayers... From all of us on PnQ. We're one big family and contrary to what some have suggested, we all care. Things like this should bring us closer not drive wedges.

I do understand with holidays a lot have not checked in. By the way Britt sent me prayers on my FB page when I posted it there. I still haven't been able to talk to Anna and my anxiety is getting the best of me. Anna and I talked nearly every day sometimes several times a day for the past 10 years since meeting on pnq. We have logged many hours on the phone rambling about nonsense, pnq, politics, religion, children, lovers, food, poetry, husband's, bosses, jobs, animals, mother in laws, weather etc. My heart is absolutely breaking and I just don't know what to do. This woman is indeed my best friend whom I have never met. I feel so helpless that there is not a thing in the world I can do for my friend. She is not alone in spirit but in only in reality. I am praying so hard for her return. I

Right. Enough said on this topic of shaming. Would Anna want to come back and read that her condolence thread has deteriorated into pointing fingers and blame? I know she liked healthy debate as much as anyone, but surely this is not the time for that.
Let's just draw a line here and move on with well wishes.

Saying that we all care about Anna even if you think we don't is not a parting shot? How is that a shot? It's the exact opposite of a shot. I'm acknowledging that you care, and that I also care. You thought we didn't care. I'm saying we do. Not only am I defending all of us against this accusation, but I think Anna should and hopefully already does know that we all care about her. There is no shot. We're a family here.
Why this became about moderators at all is beyond me. I know people who care about Anna want someone to blame for life being unkind. I don't want to be blamed though, and I hope that's understandable. So please, give Anna your thoughts, love, prayers, but let's not start calling people out who have yet to post their own words. That's nonsense.

Dixie, my heart goes out to you. I know how scared you must feel right now. Anna is blessed to have found such a caring and loving friend in you.

When one of our loving members turn ill.. It's only natural for sadness and concern to be misconstrued. This site will always have and share opinions and Thoughts, but when something like this happens it's bound to stir up stuff.

Ever been to a hospital where family and friends gathered? Certain members feel things should be done or said one way and others feel differently... It happens often and this thread is no different. It's a sad time....

I'm not defending anyone.... I'm just saying, emotions are heightened.

Anna has been a member a long time and she was truly cared about and admired...

I am not a prophet but I know in my heart that if her health ever goes south ,her spirit will go north

I am looking forward to a scolding from her for sharing our secret

I sat for an hour trying to figure out a "coffee" poem and you just popped one out in ten minutes!! I'm impressed!!!!
Don't tell anyone I sent you this, but I think you missed using the word "milk"

I saw this on Facebook before I did on PnQ. I've been talking to God, not other members. I apologize if my personal way of care is offensive to others, as I can see it looks as though I haven't extended my graces. Anna would crack up at you lot right now, and kick all your asses. :p

Kay I pray you get to speak with her soon. Thank you for keeping us updated. I've been praying for your heart as well, dear friend.

We may all get our chance. I still havent spoken with her but her daughter implied shes doing betterm she may come out of ICU tomorrow and go to a stroje unit to speech therapy.

Here is a partial part of an email from her daughter that will let you all know of an update. I will post updates as I get them.

"When I got back to the hospital the nurse couldn't wait to tell me about the "amazing" afternoon she'd had. She was able to work with the speech therapist and the occupational and physical therapists.

It was a little hard for me to believe because she was again completely zonked out when I got there and I figured we were still at status quo. I told the nurse I was going to wake her up to see for myself and she encouraged me to do so. After several attempts at getting her to open more than one eye, she finally looked at me and said " you're a pain in the butt". What could I do but laugh, finally laugh after these rough days, it was a relief.

She has a long road ahead, there is some speech impairment and some confusion, and there is no movement on her left side, but she is coherent and as witty as ever."

I am ecstatic with the progress even though I havent gotten to talk with her yet. I will take this good news.

I keep forgetting that Meena is a Mod...my bad...maybe it's because, as a mod, the only thing I remember her doing is putting up the weekly winners post occasionally and, generally it's late.

Absolutely Ben!!! Anna loves controversy and...being the star of it would thrill her to bits I'm sure....

Reading this brought tears to my eyes, Anna is very special person to me, she was the first to ask about me years ago 2011, a charming and very kind lady.

I will include her in my prayers for sure and I think she's courageous enough to recover from a stroke.

Very sad news indeed but am sure like all of you..she is going to fight back & from the shared communication...it seems she is going to recover soon.
She'll be in my prayers.

Update on Anna, She was moved from ICU to a stroke unit for therapy. She done okay the first day over there, but wouldn't respond for nurses nor Krissy that evening. She has been moved back to ICU and has now been intubated. Continued prayers please for Anna and her daughter, as this is extremely difficult for her.

I'm sorry to hear about Anna's setback. I will continue to keep her and her family and friends in my prayers.

Thank you all for prayers, they are working. Just talked to Krissy and Anna doing good today. They will probably remove tube tomorrow if she continues improving. She tried to squeeze her daughter's hand and she gave a thumbs up. The doc said she thinks Anna had carbon dioxide toxicity. But all scans show stability. Praise God!

Good to hear the updates! She is definitely fighting back.
