    Jackpot of Dreams by Dixiedaisy

    With the power ball lottery approaching 2 billion dollars ,
    how could you not like this, seriously though, sounds like
    the floor to my study littered with papers of hopes and dreams outlined, conceived yet never achieved , I'm
    always tithing with my soul......nicely done.....hope is a
    good thing. (7 points)

    Jackpot of dreams by Dixiedaisy

    Dixie really pulls the heartstrings with this piece written for
    a dear friend. Taking the readers through years of
    hopes and dreams. Plans made that would probably
    never happen. That's the best part making up the dreams
    as we go along through our days. Sometimes we can
    feel closer to someone we never met, then the ones
    we have known for years. Meeting on the net I think
    enables us to see the heart and soul of another. In
    person we lock our real feelings deep inside. Here's to
    many more years of friendship for you and Anna. You
    really created a beauty with this poem of love for a
    friend. (10 points)

    Night Shift by Ren

    It almost reads as a spoken word piece; each verse is concise and powerful. The short narrative style of this
    piece really works wonder as it paints the other side of
    how death affects the doctors and nurses just as much as
    it affects the deceased's loved ones and family, it brings
    a light to something often overlooked. The movies and
    TV shows tend to depict the ER workers as 'desensitized'
    to deaths, even though they might be desensitized to
    some point, it still affects them a great deal, and I
    imagine it's not easy for the doctors and nurses to cope
    with it as well. A powerful write. (7 points)

    Night Shift by Ren

    What a unique side to the sadness that paramedics,
    nurses, doctors and police must feel when they
    encounter this. I have a close friend that is a paramedic
    and some of the things he has experienced are ingrained
    in his mind forever. He doesn't forget the faces, they
    are forever burned in his mind, both the lost and
    the mourners. I enjoyed this write and it was
    appropriately titled, loved the blending with the title to
    the subject of the poem. (7 points)

    Night Shift by Ren

    I feel that everyone who works in the medical field,
    weather its hospital, Law enforcement or what have
    you, needs to read this poem.

    It shows the true feelings and passion of the caretaker
    of human beings who are dealing with the dying.

    This poem flowed and brought the reader into every
    single line. My mouth dropped and the tears flowed. Excellent write by Ren this week!!!!!!! (10 points)

    Crystallized Dream (Collaboration) by Maple Tree & Mr Darcy

    What a great collaboration! Michael and Andrea created
    a very dark yet sad piece. The imagery reminds me of
    the old black and white horror movies from the 60's.
    Their writing styles really meshed together wonderfully.
    The sadness and loneliness really tears at the heart of
    the reader. (7 points)

    Crystallized Dream (collaboration) by Maple Tree

    I was very impressed with this collaboration! The flow
    was impeccable and one can not discern between the
    two writers. It is hard enough to achieve this alone and
    bring a union of thought to poetry without breaking the
    idea. The poem opens with a strong line and finishes with one as well. It gave a Phantom of the opera type feel to
    me in a ballerinaesque style. Phenomenal and euphoric
    write from two undeniably talented writers. I cannot wait
    to see another collaboration from you both. (10 points)

    Melancholy is a Bird's unsung song by Senyru

    "I am not a poet, but I found a poet when I was lost
    in her"...how many of us started writing poetry due
    to circumstances, whether it be tragedy, love or just
    spilling emotion......Enjoyed this painfully written love tale

    ------------------------------------

    Black Snow by Ben Pickard

    A very good rendition of a cold heart seeking the warmth
    of love by using seasonal metaphors....some great
    advice, get a dog......very well done. (4 points)
    ------------------------------------

    An Unforgettable Name" by Adreamer

    This piece speaks for itself - it's a beautiful tribute written
    for a friend. It's absolutely heart-breaking. I don't wish
    to break it down further, but with every verse you feel
    the pain behind each word and it's absolutely moving and
    a tragedy that someone lost their life that young.
    (10 points)
    --------------------------------------

    Pendulum by Saerelune

    This piece mimics a journal entry, and narrates the
    author's thoughts in a really distinctive way. It's a bittersweet piece as you see the authors thoughts
    swing back and forth from a shimmer of hope to drear.
    The title is perfect for this piece. The ending was sudden
    and abrasive, ending the swing of the 'pendulum' that the author constructed through this piece. It's a gloomy
    write, but extremely well-written one. Well done.(4 points)

    Bonfire by Poet on the Piano

    How many times have I felt this way? Countless times I
    can honestly say. To start over a have a new poet/person arise from the remnants of what used to be. Ahhh we
    can dream though. Wonderfully penned and loved the metaphoric tone the poem gave.(4 points)
    ~~~~~~~~~~
    Bonfire by Poet on the Piano
    I love the simple and true elegance of this piece.
    Sometimes when the sorrow gets over burdened it is
    good to regroup, cleanse and refresh.
    To burn the old past and start a new within writing is a
    true release.Such a beautiful write! (4 points)
    Hymns and Prayer by Michael D Nalley
    Micheal poured the beauty of his soul in this poem.
    This peaceful write reflects the deep emotions of life, spiritual blessings and gifts that need to be given in order to be comforted in this hectic world.
    Powerful and incredible poem ! (7 points)
    Death of a Poet by Cassie hughes
    Cassie has penned a beautifully unique poem. Love the imagery and metaphors. So much sadness oozes from
    each word that is penned. I went back to this poem
    again and again. Each time I read it I got different
    feelings. You know it is a wonderful poem when you can't
    get it out of your mind. (4 points)
    Congratulations to the amazing pieces and poets that won this week. I have to say, the competition was very tough and I thought 4 or five could have won again this week - when a poem as good as "Death of a Poet" by Cassie isn't on the front page, you know it's a tough week.
    Thanks to the judges once again for all their time and all the best,
    Ben
    ps - to the judge who commented on my poem - I have two of them lol
    A big THANK YOU to all responsible for this weeks contest. Meena for hosting and the judges, I don't know how you make your decisions when the standard is so high. Personally I would pin all Nominations onto a wall board, place a blind fold on, spin until dizzy; then pin the rosettes on three random poems. I guess it's just as well I don't judge, eh! lol
    Anyway, congratulations to all the winners and HM's this week. Awesome work everyone.
