Updates on Anna

While I have refrained from posting this, partly because I don't want it to be true.
Anna was moved to a rehab center., she is not doing good. She is hallucinating badly, she realized it was me only for brief moments. They will be having a family meeting this week, not sure what that will entail.

I have talked to her daughter and she has given me an address if you would send get well cards and wishes. If you do send one regardless of if you know her a little or a lot, it would do a world of good for encouragement. Please include that you are from p and q and your screen name as well as if your name is different from screen name. This is her address for any that can please send her cards.

Thanks for the update, was hoping it would be better news, I'm kind of fond of the old girl, we had our battles, but I always respected her and hope she pulls though so I can get her all riled up again.....Keep us posted and thanks again for letting us know.

She is in our thoughts. I will keep a candle lit for her in my heart.

Kay even though we just talked this morning....I love Anna very much...I just filled out her card...I'm going to see if my niece will mail it out for me. Try to keep your spirits up also she needs you more than anyone.

I spoke with Anna briefly this morning. She said she always wondered what my voice sounded like...thankfully she was able to understand my broad Scottish accent. Hopefully she's on the mend.

I just spoke with Anna again after her daughter told me she was much more coherent than this morning. She sounded a little sluggish but not nearly as bad as this morning. She sent her love and appreciation for thoughts and prayers.

I forgot to say but she also said that Bob had sent his love. I'm not sure if it was a face book message or a voicemail but she was coherent enough to connect Bob to me through P&Q.

Yeah she told me she had to let me go in case Bob called. I am like WTH?? I got replaced by Shank. She just giggled.
I dunno but I don't think they have ever talked on the phone, maybe once or so. (No disrespect Bob, talking about you) Regardless was so glad to hear her in great spirits. Just tickled me pink she was so schoolgirlish about Bob, was quite funny too knowing they have had their go rounds.

You have to understand, we were lovers in a former life, the praying mantis types.......I'm still upset that I have to go through this life missing a brain......Lmao.......I hate her, she hates me, and then it turns to love for one mili-second, and bang, we hate each other again, and we're fine with that, now tell that old coot to get the hell up and go piss someone else off.....

Hahaha Michael I was fond of Emily if that makes any difference. Though I know this is a update on Anna thread, I was fond of Sluvious too. When my kids were little they received letters from sluvious the elf, Santa's helper. They were really good that year. Holly just found her letter again after all these years. She loved it

Just talked to her, she wanted everyone to know that she really appreciates the thoughts and concerns for "this old lady", and she thanks each and every one of you.

That is so awesome. Y'all are just awesome with the phone calls, thoughts, prayers, and cards.

Talked to Anna again last night. She is doing okay. Still no movement on left side. The physical therapists are working hard. Her mind however witty as ever. She has received some phone calls that have just made her day.

This is some welcome news, and hope that she makes a full recovery in time.

I'm so happy she is doing better Kay :) I got her card all ready to go..Just have to have my niece Michelle get me a stamp tomorrow. I'll keep bugging her till she takes it and mails it.

I am sure it will get to her. I am sure they all know who Anna Stephens is by now. She got some day techs in trouble because they weren't doing their job....sounds like Anna doesn't it lol?

I love your relationship with Anna, Kay. Close female friendships are a beautiful thing. She is a fiery one, but I don't know her as well as some of you. It felt good to send a card. I do care about her and hope she is doing better every day.

Just had another conversation with Anna and she sounds very chirpy...it was a bad connection towards the end so, Kay next time you talk to her will you please let her know that I wasn't picking up on everything she was saying.

Oh my gosh I absolutely am giddy over the updates. I've got a card ready to go in the mail first thing tomorrow. Thanks Kay for keeping us all in the loop. Love your and Hellons updates on her wittiness. :)

Any new news anyone? I hope she's still doing well.

The last I spoke with her she seemed upbeat. She was having therapy so we didnt talk long. I am going out of the country and will be back next week. Yall have a great week, thank you for asking about her.

Good to hear; it sounds like she may be out of the woods now at least, although I am aware of the hard work and patience often required with this type of setback. She's come this far, I'm sure she will go from strength to strength over the coming weeks.

Here are two updates on Anna, please continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

This one was sent 2 days ago...

Here's the latest...Mom decided that we didn't have enough excitement in our lives and we are currently at the Penrose ER waiting for admission. Thankfully it's just for a night of observation and expectation is that she will be back at Springs Village sometime tomorrow. She has a really bad urinary tract infection, so bad that it left her unresponsive this morning so Springs Village sent to ER for tests. She was very nauseous yesterday and didn't eat anything and is probably a little dehydrated as well.

On a more positive note, I observed her physical therapy on Tuesday morning and she has regained a small amount of movement in her left hand and some of the major muscles of her left leg. So, while today is a bit of a set back for her, rehab will continue to work with her and hopefully she will continue to improve

Here's an update to yesterday's update...Mom will not be going back to Springs Village today. During an Ecocardiogram this morning they discovered a blood clot in her heart. The concern now, besides a possible pulmonary embolism, is that in order to dissolve the clot they have to put her on blood thinners which could aggravate her recent brain bleed. They are going to start her on a low dose of cumudin and see how well she can tolerate it while keeping a close eye on her brain bleed. She is expected to be at Penrose for at least another 5-7 days. She is in room 425.

That darn Anna!! She must've gotten sick of the people she was seeing at Springs Village. ;) Miss her saucy self. Keeping her in my prayers!
