Hey guys, I don't know what to do, I have had a bladder infection the past two and a half weeks, now the bladder infection is clear but I have pains which start from my belly and move around my waist area to my back, feels like someone is punching me inside with a sledge hammer :( I'm scared it might be my kidney's and if it is, is there any wya to treat it at home without going to the doc?

How do you actually know you have a bladder infection if you haven't visited a doctor?

You should go to the doctor. The first (and only) time I had a UTI, I didn't realize what was going on and let it get to the point that I had a high fever and constant pain in my abdomen. I don't mean to scare you needlessly, but it could be your kidneys. Regardless, I'm of a mind that you should put your health before anything. Then again, easier to give advice than take it.
Good job being aware of your own body and reaching out. You can also call an Advice Nurse for free - you'll likely be given at home "remedies" or preliminary steps. You'll still be advised to see a doctor.

That's what I meant Jane...do not self diagnose because you could be way off the mark as to what the problem really is...

Okay, I guess you must know you have a bladder infection because it was diagnosed and you took/ are taking antibiotics. If this is the case, good advice is to return to the doctor. You may need a scan, but the doctor is best placed to diagnose or they will refer you to a specialist who will do so.

    Take care.

Hey Hellon, didn't read your post til after I posted. Wow, I sure say very little in very many words haha.
Yes, summed up: don't self diagnose and see a doc.

Possible kidney infection can be onset after bladder infection... Cranberry juice and water help a great deal to flush you out, but you need to be seen by a Dr now....only way to get to the root of the problem, don't wait...you can get in bad shape if you don't go.

You'd rather be in unbearable pain that could do permanent damage to your body than see a doctor who'll probably just ask a few questions and prescribe antibiotics? Come on now! Take care of yourself.

^ Yes! When I was in the hospital a few years ago, I was told I had a UTI. I had no idea and nurses had asked me if I was in pain. I wasn't but I assumed it was just the start of one so they put me on antibiotics right away.

I have a few friends and family members who are hesitant to see doctors for a regular check-up or for emergencies, and who are even more reluctant to take meds or prescriptions. But you don't want to be living through the pain or be under the illusion it will just go away. Stay informed and listen to the doctors so you learn more about your body and about the possible damage it has already done to your body. It is most important that you take care of yourself first.

When in doubt, always ask yourself this simple question: "what would I do if this was happening to my best friend?" Then do whatever it is you would advise her, as you should be your own best friend, always and unconditionally.

Thanks for the advice guys, an update, I went to the hospital and didn't even get so far as speaking to someone who knows what they're doing because the staff doesn't give a s### so yeah, that's the very reason I don't bother with doctors and stuff but yeah, I know something is wrong so I'm going to go see my healer hopefully tomorrow, spirit told her exactly what was wrong with a woman who had been misdiagnosed by like 5 doctors so yeah, but I guess I know what she's going to say I know I haven't got much longer to live maybe five years or so, but I am at peace about it.

You are 19 years old. If you die within 5 years because you don't see a medical doctor and accept treatment for simple ailments, I, for one, will not be at peace about it. Neither should you. I'm starting to wonder if you're punishing yourself for something. You're definitely torturing the rest of us who want to "see" you get better and take care of yourself.

I've said my piece. You're an adult. It's your health. I wish you all the best.

I highly suggest that you make an appointment with your doctor, as soon as possible. May G-d bless you and heal you speedily.
