    The Scarlett Letter, or To Seduce a sinner those have my love towards them they are great books that both have love and sadness.

    The Kite Runner (very sad and touching story)

    Angles and Demons and come to think of it have read so many books I seem to like them all!

    Yes Ben what an amazing series. Also still have a soft spot for the Shannara series of books. Although the new TV series is murdering it but then I guess that's the problem. When you love a book then no-one in films ever sticks to the script. They just have to mess around with it

    Milly - the Shannara series is still my favourite fantasy series ever! I have read those books over and over.
    Em - I've just read Goodnight Mr Tom to my kids - a brilliant book that's sad and inspiring all at once.
    Augustas - Twain was an excellent writer. I believe his real name was Samuel Langhorne clemmence or some such. Tom Sawer is also an excellent novel

    Sir, thanks for the information. Yes, I really wanted to go on adventures with Twain if he would have alive today. Great Man and great writer. Ya, I have Tom Sawer novel but not read it yet. I might read that soon too.

    My favourite book of all times is Gone With The Wind by Margaret Mitchell.Though I am a devout fan of Ayn Rand, this book spoke to me the most.

    My favourite book is non-fiction and quite depressing, but super enlightening.

    How the World Works - Noam Chomsky

    I'd recommend it to anyone in a good headspace ;)

    Chicken soup for teenagers....I read it recently and was deeply touched by it.

    It contains real life incidents of friendship, family,life etc etc....

    I love real life stories though they can be very sad.
    Cathy glass is one of my faves. She is a foster carer and seen many sites. I always cry at her books.
