Welcome aboard, new moderator!

Hi all. Here's a little intro before the grand reveal:

Colm stepped down several months ago. Before he left, he said there's one member he had in mind to replace him should we decide to promote a 7th mod.

We collectively decided to wait before adding anyone new. No need to rush, we agreed. The site was sailing smoothly after all.

In the last week, this member who was given Colm's blessing has gone above and beyond what is expected of any non-mod. He's done so in the past as well.
Actually, he has consistently been a pillar of patience and logic on PnQ. A few days ago, we all realized it's time.

"We must have him on our team!!!!" Said we.

Ok, without further rambling, please welcome SENYRU to the mod squad.

MATH. Funny story, my work is running an auction and I am on check out duty. I begged to be on the debit/credit side so I don't have to make change! Numbers are hard! Speaking of which, I gotta go get ready for the auction, lol.

Goes to show you how observant I am. Thought he was a Mod at one time, guess because I thought he deserved to be. Congratulations, you will make an extra excellent Mod.

I think any member would find it hard to say one bad word against Mark but...hey Mark, I don't really know you so can you tell me a little about yourself. Nothing personal obviously,,,just things that you feel comfortable with. You have mentioned that you are in class recently so...what are you studying?..do you have a plan set out for the future?...just general stuff like that?

I remember going back a while I asked you where your sense of humour had been hiding and you said it was always there just had been dormant for a bit. Well I hope to see more of it once you have settled in on the mod couch!!

A little bit about me:

My Name's mark, and i'm an addict...a p&q addict. I've been here since 07, left around 09ish, came back in 2011, and here we are now! I'm 20, turning 21 in 2 months, I'm from Canada. I'm currently majoring in Computer Science, minoring in mathematics, might go back to do a major in mathematics as well, since my university doesn't offer double majors for some odd reason. Ideally I'm looking to work as a software engineer, but pretty open to anything right now.

I'll definitely be more active on the boards now, lol.

I realise from an 'outside' perspective that being a moderator is not always an 'easy' or indeed enjoyable task. I am sure that the qualities you have will enhance the experience of PnQ.

I have only been a member of the site for 8 or 9 months, but you always strike me as a calm and clever sort of man who seems made for a role as moderator on this site.
Can I also point out what a truly gifted writer you are for one so relatively young - you are a credit to the moderator team and the site in general.

Yes, I was about 11/12ish when I joined. I realized I enjoyed writing poetry in middle school, during grade 6, and started posting here, and years later, here we are.

And now he's a moderator? Better watch for this hot shot.

but no, not really. while i was making my account, i was looking up the exact rules of senryu poems, and wrote in the name field instead of the search bar, and I couldn't come up with anything else, so it stuck.
