Does poetry ever die in us human beings?

Okay so lately I seem to think a lot for the reason being that I often get bored a lot and when texting people gets boring I like to think when I walk outside in the night and this question popped up in me. I know that people tend to say that no it doesn't die you just have writer's block...but what if you never "recover" from it?

My answer to that question is that yes it can die but it can manifest into another outlet like writing a novel or a dairy entry. Some trace of the poetic ability always stays with us even if we can no longer write the way we once did.

So now I shared my view I want to see what you have to say people!

I believe that poetry, or writing poetry, is a gift and a skill itself. Thus, just like any other talent, you need to practice and the more you practice, the more it flows naturally with you.

At the same time, poetry cannot defeat circumstances, although it's a tool to express saddness and joy and love, it also can be limited by choatic life events. Some people get tired to the point that they lack the right words or the ability to express their emotions, others' writing skills are boosted by alike events.

But I doubt it dies, perhaps it rests somewhere behind priorities and outcomes, unless the person devoted his/her life to make a living out of writing.

Sometimes I don't write for months, very long periods of time, suddenly images and emotions gather inside my head and force themselves out. So I guess it's a matter of relativity.

I personally believe that poetry doesn't die but can manifest for some time like I had'writers block for a few years and I thought I'd never wrote again but he been going strong now for a few months now.

My belief is that poetry never dies because to me poetry are written thoughts that either take the form of verse or prose. A diary entry is poetry. A message written as an email is poetry. A short story is poetry. A script is poetry. A book is poetry. An article is poetry. Anything written is poetry. Except that not everything that is written is of high quality. It requires skill and a lot of dedication from a writer to achieve a high quality of writing. And a Poet to me, is someone who manages to move the great majority of readers with their words. However, anyone can be a poet, yet not everyone is, even though, everyone can write poetry.

So definitely, poetry, in my opinion, never dies so long as the thoughts are being written.

It can and it usually does, but usually not until you write that "signature" piece. That one poem that defines you. You may still have the skill, but that one piece will ultimately be the end of the desire. It has happened to me, right after I wrote "you can't hurt me", I knew I was done. I tried convincing myself that I'd be able to write something better, even more comparable, but I was only lying to myself.

It does not die but it can whither with abandonment.

I have written what I believed to be my signature piece (We Live in an Expanding Universe) and discovered I had moved to a new place. Since then I had another signature piece (Earnest Heartways).

I have time and again worked through dry-spells with no inspiration, forcing myself to write on simply arbitrary subjects. When it comes the inspiration must have a warm oven to be well done.

I don't think I have a signature piece that truly defines me. I would have to write one book of poetry like Dante ( just an example) and even still, it would not define me. But so far, I have a couple of pieces that I think may define a bit of myself. I'm a little bit of everything.

"I was Not a Naked Tree" - Explained the reasons why I struggled with English Grammar.
" In The Street of my Heart" - How I would define love
"The Bluebird" - A yearn to meet someone who enjoys who I am.
"The Feeder of our Souls" - What I believe Poetry is to me - I claim it does not die.
    "Without you - There's nothing - I'm Nothing" - Speaking to God
    "Poetry my idolatry" -
"In the hands of a Poet" -
    "The meowoholling" -

    etc...
