Clown Threats

Apparently America is experiencing an increase in violence and threats of violence from clowns... Just heard from my school teacher friend that her school is on alert tomorrow and that the authorities are taking the threat seriously. What is the world coming to? It seems that terrorists will use any guise to cause mayhem and fear

It's getting to be quit bizzare and scary. In the city I live in (Utica NY) a lady who lived in a wooded area, spotted a man in her kitchen window, dressed as a clown holding a machete....

This is terrorizing and harassment at a new level....

It's mostly a lot of idiotic youths thinking it will be hilarious - not thinking through the consequences. I have heard of many people being chased, but no actual contact violence (unless you count the flying tackles by police of the clowns themselves).

I just had a premonition someone would bring it up here on PnQ.
Sigh, I don't see how people find it entertaining...

This is disturbing. Many people do these things just to post them online too which is disgusting running round with weapons to scare the living s h it out of people is very uncanny and uncool.

I for one am afraid of clowns so would find the whole experience scary as hell even if there was just a clown at my window. Sick

A clown has gotten shot in the head. Another clown has actually chased people, some have been stabbing. This isn't a joke anymore. Clowns are my worst nightmare.

I live in a small town and there have been sightings here in a popular park... we have a lot of people that carry guns here, not smart. Cops aren't taking it lightly and picking people up for menacing. Now we have clown fb pages like Bo Jangles etc, saying they're from my town, adding people and asking people if they want to play a game. Forget that. Totally freaks me out, I hate clowns. Now I have to see the pics all over fb and news. Yuck.

I work with people who are mentally disabled due to trauma .. I don't want some punk kid thinking it's funny to scare them any further....

We are located in a really bad area of the city....any clown spotted, the police will be called immediately....if I don't rip the mask off the kid first!

I have zero tolerance for this kind of behavior...my folks are deemed as "easy" targets, they get beat up, spit on and even murdered...because they are "labeled homeless or a lost cause"

This is not funny at all....

YES Andrea!!! I actually saw on one of my local facebook pages that someone said a clown should go through the homeless camp we have and really freak 'em out, maybe they'd leave. It absolutely broke my heart. They even made fun of their paranoia!! I am so sad by people's behavior and judgment to homeless people. Until you've worked with that population, you just can't understand... I didn't until I worked with them, knew them, tried to understand.

I guess I didn't really understand the clown situation. I thought hooligans were going around beating up clowns. The only clown images I've seen on my feed are of people dressed in clown costumes laying on the ground after being knocked out and bloodied by someone. Now knowing the situation, I agree with Larry that it must be young people thinking they're funny. I hope no one gets killed. No people dressed as clowns and no people dressed any other way.

I've been with the homeless shelter for as almost a year now..2 of my people have been beaten up, three got spit on...and one was murdered in July. ..that's just this year alone....

Now my folks have to worry about clowns. ....

My folks are human beings, the sweetest people you could ever know. ...they are just trying to get better and make their life better. ...

In the metro Detroit area these idiots have been robbing places and chasing people with bats. Some one is going to get shot and I'm afraid it's going to be some kid being stupid. I am not a clown fan myself, they give me the creeps and I have a feeling around here if one of these idiots end up in some one's back yard it will be shoot first ask questions later. So dumb, sigh...

This has been popping up all over my Facebook recently. I wasn't really aware of what was happening and did reading. A lot of articles are saying it's a marketing ploy for the new Stephen King IT film and if that's the case i'd say someone has taken marketing strategy 101 to a whole new level. However, as mentioned above, I think this is simply a prank gone too far. These clown sightings are now happening in Australia too. Many people are claiming sightings and that they have been approached by clowns with a knives.

Stephen King did a great job of giving clowns a bad rap in his book "IT" but I have always felt clowns were a little weird. I don't think its got anything to do with his new novel though.

I think for some people its an easy way to hide who they are and commit terrible violence that they would never do if there was a risk of being discovered. Like most bully's they are cowards.
