In Orbit -- Bones (by deeplydesturbed) 7
In Orbit -- Continuing mission... (13 films and counting) (by Mr Darcy) 7

    Comments:

Bones gets my 7 points as this goes through some of the scenes with a subtle rhyming scheme and I am a sucker for rhymed poetry especially when written so well

Continuing mission 7x points for #3 - wow wow wow! Beautiful!

The Expansion of Thoughts gets my 4 points as it is unique and original how poetry itself sends us into a whole new universe

    Expansion of thoughts: 4 points
The title that wants you to read more, and reveal what is out there. Like the universe there are parallels to poetry and this poem explores them. I like the internal rhyme, which musically lends itself to the theme. Like a 'big bang' poetry can start with a spark and then expand thoughts forever outwards, like the ripples on a pond.

Forbidden fruit 4x points for #5 - such a stunning sonnet!

    Inner space: 10 points
This is a poignant, reflective piece of poetry. Remembering a younger-self, when questions were plentiful and answers alluringly out of reach. The title, 'inner space', to me, brings the universe into a mind, a world 'nebulae' and 'solar rising'. I can see this time of possibilities striking out, a real, 'Luna rebellion'
Listening to old homemade songs really brings home the 'optimistic' energy that only youth can bring. It may be short-sighted, but still thought provoking.
Overall I liked this poem - the honest nostalgia. Being able to look back at a time of innocence and know that those thoughts and words will always be a part of them and the present world.

Leonard Nimoy - 1931 - 2015 (Syntuit) gets my 10 points as so much is said within a limited syllable count and it is executed nicely.

Leonard Nimoy 10x points for #7 - just brilliant work who ever this was! bought a tear to my eye!

    Untitled: 7 points
This poem really encapsulates a sci-fi show, detailing knowledge about 'Stargate'. Fans will appreciate the facts and references. The Egyptian landscape is a great way to begin - the history shrouded in mystery is enough to conjure the possibilities of alien existence.
There is an important message, as often there are in sci-fi shows. Messages that we can relate to and are pertinent to our 'real world', messages that highlight that we are vulnerable, living on a planet in a universe; mere specks on a mountain range.
If we ignore the need for peace and balance, we will see our damnation.

Thank you to the people who thought my poem was worth giving points. I'm embarrassed I didn't vote. I was visiting with my big sister who flew home from New York to see me and I got home late last night after several hectic, fun days with her. It makes the win a little less "sweet" knowing how I dropped the ball, so I apologize. I sincerely appreciate that some people liked the poem nonetheless. It's all true. I wrote and recorded an album called Solar Rising on garage band when I was 17. There were many things back then I thought were within my reach.

    Sorry for this late comment.

Thanks Larry for this unique contest. Although Sci-fi isn't everyone's cup of tea, it is a topic with often relates to everyday experiences.

My sonnet about Klingon and human love was inspired from our experiences here on Earth. Often communities war over couples from different faiths wanting to marry. Does love really overcome all obstacles?

Anyway, great comments and poems submitted, even if 3 of them were mine! Lol

    Also,

Thank you for the Over achiever award!

To be exact, it is a crown, not an award. Wear it proudly, sir Darcy. I commend your enthusiasm.
