16 Personalities

So, I was bored and saw this personality test online and though, "why not?" Lol

I find these things interesting and want to see what you all get. And if you agree with all, most, some, or none of it. My sister and I thought we'd be the same, if not similar.... but we were pretty opposite.

Cool. My husband got protagonist, too.

Do you guys agree with whatever they described in the different categories? Or the percentages of the other things? I thought mine were kinda off, but some seemed accurate.

Last time I did this I got protagonist, now I'm an advocate. Some of the percentages seems a bit off to me too, but the descriptions are pretty spot on.

IMO the test is way too short to be more than generally accurate.
By way of comparison the MMPI takes hours to complete.

I agree, Larry. I still think it's interesting lol

    What's the MMPI?

It is very interesting, I agree

It's the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory
A very common & very reliable test - it even has an internal reliability index that tells you if someone is deliberately trying to skew the results.

    Several things.

I got "Advocate." I tried to answer questions with brutal honesty. Yes, the results accurately reflect who I think I am, but to me this is like horoscopes. The descriptions are designed to confirm suspicion and preconceived notions, and our interpretations are reflective.
I don't condone personality tests as a way of understanding others because it disallows for the complexity and fluidity of each individual. I am passionately opposed to putting people into categories or boxes.
In a different mood, my answers would've been different enough to predict a different personality. These tests are subjective.

Jane I completely agree with you

    Mediator for me.

a couple of lines that caught my eye.

Mediator personalities are true idealists, always looking for the hint of good in even the worst of people and events, searching for ways to make things better. While they may be perceived as calm, reserved, or even shy, Mediators have an inner flame and passion that can truly shine. Comprising just 4% of the population, the risk of feeling misunderstood is unfortunately high for the Mediator personality type - but when they find like-minded people to spend their time with, the harmony they feel will be a fountain of joy and inspiration.

Mediators have a talent for self-expression, revealing their beauty and their secrets through metaphors and fictional characters.

"In a different mood, my answers would've been different enough to predict a different personality. These tests are subjective."
    ^^
True, Jane. Some questions I left neutral because I thought the same thing and I didn't want it to be one or the other.

Cool, Darren. I found that last one interesting.
