The Yonder Green by Mark (10 points)
A bit of an oldy worldy tongue twister for my 10 points this week. Every syllable
sticks out a leg to trip you up. The flow is as smooth as the surface of the moon,
the imagery dives right out of the poem. Yet I kept coming back and re-reading then
reading again as it was fascinating. A real head scratcher that I could probably write
a thesis on. There's a feast of poetry here, worthy of my 10. Well done.

What a beautiful and elegant poem,
filled with luscious nature, I can spot the ivy
hanging within a cool night breeze.
I'm all about the visuals and this poem is detailed
with elegant visual beauty!

You give me butterflies by Paul Hirst (7 points)
Just that power in the last line. IF a break had been placed after 'cries' this would
have been a 10. I just think the punch would be missed without. Such a colorful
write, dressing up such disturbing undertones with delightful imagery is very clever.
Great job PH

You give me butterflies by Paul Hirst (10 points)
This write is so vivid with violence so tenderly captured! The choice of words
and the tone of it makes me as a reader to cringe; its as if violence is accepted
as part of life and is turned into something sweet so the person will not feel
its anger...if that made sense...a write which tugs at the heart!

Eternality by Sathish Verma (4 points)
The title caught my attention and the read itself has got some medieval time
and scenery attached to it. There is less said yet so much for the mind to
visualize and take it all in..liked this write.

Eternality by Satish Verma (10 points)
Your words have clubbed in a mixture of mystery and curiosity in its every line.
Having read this piece multiple times, I am still left wondering if this piece talks of
a personal dilemma or contains some hidden deeper meaning in it that needs to be
found by the reader.

Evening thoughts by Willliam Mae (7 points)
The imagery here is so delicate and at the same time sensually entertaining.
Rhymes and rhythm are so perfectly matched the thought of the one who is
been loved by the writer gives such a warm feeling...beautifully penned!

Pause (Rondeau) by kitty cat lady (7 points)
Oh wonderful, this was quite a refreshing piece to read — full of hope, joy and a
beautiful, bright future — all mixed into a single piece of a difficult form, the rondeau.
You have very beautifully penned this write and this is absolutely breathtaking. Hope
to read many more cheerful pieces from you. Congratulations.

Aaaaaaah Chooooo by Yakari Gabriel (4 points)
A beautiful and funny piece of writing. I love how it is both hilarious and quite apt
at the same time. I have always believed and felt that a piece of comical writing is
hard to be felt, but you have done excellently.. Stills me smile thinking about it each
time. Well done.

When love is blind by Walter (4 Points)
I liked this poem – it is well written and it rhymes. Written like a script, it felt
like a breath of fresh air compared with other nominations. A tale of “when love
is blind” Cupid needs to intervene. It is a sad fact that this kind of dialogue actually
happens all the time. In a world of so many lonely people, we need a real life cupid
to bring love to everyone.

Random 4:41 pm by Everlasting (7 Points)
With each read of this poem, it revealed itself to me. Like the clouds slowly traveling
across a sky, glimpses of blue revealing an inner strand of measured emotional
unrest. The poet continues, reflecting on how rain/ sadness can feel remarkably
different, depending on circumstances. Despite this, there is a constant and this is
left to a final rhyme, which, to me, speaks of happiness and security:
“I continue to see the blues in the skies
like I see them in the green of your eyes”

Rising Tide (English sonnet) by Ben Pickard (10 Points)
It’s curious how we often look back nostalgically at our pasts, settling on the
conclusion that life/love was better back then. Ben, writes about this in his, well-
written, sonnet, using a extending coastal metaphor to help create his emotional
standpoint. Like all great poems, they leave you lasting, tangible emotion. I leave
this, his concluding couplet, with you now:
“If moats were scaled and castle walls were breached,
Why do I stand upon an empty beach?”

Pyre (senryu) beautiful soul (4 points)
Nice to see so many forms nominated this week, especially the smaller variety.
This piece gets my vote as it's cleverly written. Such a conflict in pace between lines
1 and 3. Tied together with a clever second line that links to the title. I feel the author
has really thought about every word used here. Great job.

Pyre (Senryu) by Beautiful Soul (4 points)
Hummingbird brings a certain magic to a soul who is plagued with
depression. Jamie is a master at the senryu form. This poem is beautiful
yet has a sorrow that needs to be shared and highlighted. Wonderful!

Confessions of a Firefly by Mortal Utopia (7 points)
Firefly's are captivating and spiritual within certain spirituality.
To guide and watch over, to fill a dark filled night with peace.
Using the firefly as a metaphor is very creative and touching to the
person in which the author is speaking of. Just beautiful!
