Those Jasmine eyes by Mark (10 points)

I have read this over and over, I still do not follow, not sure what it means.
To me this is good. If I was studying English Literature and this was a poem
brought up in class, we could pick the bones out of it for the whole semester.
This poem is that good. It is one of those you need to read aloud, but try not to
do it in that deep 'The Raven' commentary if you can. You feel the pace
quicken the voice deepen as you read. Then the last 2 lines leave a pause in your
own little reality, as you ponder. This poem is THAT brilliant. I wish I could
    give out 20 points.

Those Jasmine Eyes by Mark (10 points)

This poem took my breath away!

The elegant, old English flare and style are truly
magical in this poem. To yearn for a person's love-
    just beautiful.
Its difficult to write this style and Mark captivated the readers
    this week. Marvelous write!

here is a leaf by Charlie (7 points)

Well now, here’s something different. I thoroughly enjoyed everything
about this nature poem, from the title, to the structure, to the word choices.
Simple, yet unlike anything I’ve read up until now. It’s always refreshing to
come across a poem that is completely free from cliches, clutter, or
    recycled vocabulary. Good write, Charlie

I find this interesting and very imaginative. A simple nature poem
about a leaf described with simple language and just reading it, it
does make the reader wonder more about it...enjoyed this write.

The Golden Road Home (50th class reunion) by Larry Chamberlin (4 points)

There’s something sweet and tender about Larry’s poem. I imagine a video
slideshow of a group of young people aging throughout the years - growing
apart, occasionally coming together, and the many moments in between of each
person’s long, meaningful life. Laughter, tears, achievement, love, loss, all of it.
High school reunions have a way of making us reflect on the big picture and all
of the tiny little moments that comprise it. Thoughtful nostalgia and appreciation
for having led a full life guide this poem from start to finish, and I thoroughly
    enjoyed the journey.

The Golden Road Home by Larry Chamberlain (7 points)

It is difficult to judge this contest when a super mod writes such a
great poem. I have read this 3 times and I have read all 31 poems
nominated this week twice. I have to be sure that this is my second
favorite poem this week and it is. There is always that nagging doubt that
because he is a mod I like his poem and I am sure the mods think this as well.
But I can be sure that I have picked this for the right reasons. Larry's poem
takes us back in time season by season and not only gives us a snapshot of his
journey but gives us all a subtle reminder that time skips by whether we choose
to make the most of every day or whether we standstill and watch it race by. A
poem extremely well crafted and I am thankful it was shared.

The Golden Road Home (50th class reunion) by Larry Chamberlin (7 points)

The feeling of the passage of fifty years and the joy of reunion with
those old times has been beautifully captured by the poet and offers
itself as the pleasant breeze from a fresh morning to the reader. So
wonderfully have the feelings been braided in this poem about, both, the
beautiful happy times, and the sad chilly times, leaving the poet satisfied
and content on reminiscing all the beautiful times of his life, that I am
    left hoping for the same.

    COMMENTS:

There is a Reason for This by Maple Tree (10 points)

This poem has so much fear, pain, but also strength in it. Having a
sick loved one and believing in the inevitability of losing them - it is
agonizing and heartbreaking imagining what Andrea is going through
with her daughter. That feeling of powerlessness, in my opinion, is hell on
earth. Its torment to watch as someone you love is fading before your eyes.
Though you offer unconditional love and support with outstretched arms,
it somehow isn’t enough and it should be. Love should be enough. Especially
a love that I know runs deep, unreserved, and selfless. There is one way in
which Robyn is beyond lucky in this lifetime, and it is in having a mom like
Andrea on her team. Beautiful poem that made my heart ache and made me weep.
I’m so sorry for what you’re going through, Andrea.

There is a Reason for This by Maple Tree (4 points)

Andrea writes about the true feelings felt by a person when they are
in distress and hear repeated statements that causes nothing more than
frustration and anger; and there is nothing more remarkable about poetry
than the fact that it speaks true words which, sometimes, people fail to
realize. Words are not what are needed, the only thing needed in hard
    times is magic.

To my unborn baby Brooklyn (4 points)
A heart warming write from a to be a mother to her unborn
child. A sentiment shared by all mothers about their child. A heart warming
read which put a smile on my face...sweetly penned!

To my unborn baby Brooklyn (4 points)

Loved the footnote to this, nothing changes perspective more than a child of
your own, just wait till you hold her in your arms and look into her eyes. You
will become her protector, she will be royalty in your arms and nothing trivial
will matter anymore. What a debut write this is, and to give it a form as well.
So much love and pride in this piece and I am honoured to give it an HM at
    least.

Dancing In A Noose by End Of Eternity (4 points)

I love this poem, with its unique
twist of "Pray and Prey" at the end.

To love someone and to be betrayed its devastating
to the heart! and to the soul... brilliant poem this week by
    End of Eternity!!

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cyclones and Concupiscence by Aegis (7 points)

Metaphoric brilliance this week by Aegis!

This writer amazes me with his creative design and flare
    with words and visual display.
    Loved every line!

"And like a rip current she stole a kiss and
drifted into the sunrise during high tide;"

    ^^^^^ beautiful

A new twist to the Ocean metaphor. Just beautiful!!!
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Is this it? by silvershoes (7 points)

A poem which takes the reader into many paths of thoughts about life
and about our very existence in this world. In just a few lines it takes
me deep into the depths about life and the why’s...excellent!

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Anxiety (acrostic) by Mr. Darcy (10 points)

Mr. Darcy has perfectly described the feelings of anxiety and the
consequent turmoil that takes place within a person in this beautiful
acrostic form. Although the imagery ended up sending me fretting and
twisting too (quite funnily) you have beautifully written this wonderful
    piece of poetry. Congratulations.

Thanks to the three judges with comments on my poem (and of course for the win). To the one judge, I understand, it seems tricky but really, I hope every judge ignores who the author is each time.

Congrats to Mark and Charlie. The guys seem to be catching up! Congrats also to the HMs.

Thanks to all the judges and thanks to Meena for posting.
