Iktsuarpok* by Tanya Southey (4 points)
This poem, with its nature tones and the visual display of resting your
forehead upon the window pane is marvelous. Truly brings up memories
and thoughts to the readers mind.
Beautifully crafted and just elegant!

“Iktsuarpok” by: Tania Southey. (10 points)
*Authors note* - “Iktsuarpok” – an Inuit word from The School of Life –
Untranslatable Words. The definition is “a feeling of edgy anticipation that
makes one keep on looking out the window to see if an expected visitor is
coming up the path.”
Well of the title of this poem had me intrigued from the start. I had no idea
what I was about to read! I really enjoyed this piece of writing, how the
author took me through their meaning. A poem that was so easy on the mind,
yet built many images of that ‘anticipation’ of waiting, although as mentioned
in the authors notes, the ‘edgy’ feeling was not there as I read their poem,
however I could certainly feel the waiting of something or someone, or maybe
no one! The author has flowed their pen very well here, with a subtle edge I
would say. Some wonderful imagery used, that reflected well in their poem
Certainly different, but a very enjoyable read. Well done

Battle field by: Polemo (4 points)
I was drawn into this piece by the writer, which as I read tells a sad story of
destruction, death and grief. I do feel that the writer may have lost the poem in
certain places, and a few tweaks here and there would bring their story into a
wonderful piece of writing – However! This does not detract from the depth
and emotion that the author has expressed.
A very raw story, filled with anguish and pain, especially when any child suffers
the loss, of their parents. Well done, and keep writing and exploring your art.

Battlefield by Poemelo (10 points)
War is a terrible thing and yet so many amazing works of art are borne
from that horror.
This poem, in my eyes depicts the true cost of war. It is not about the
soldier or the general, it's about the effects those people have on innocent lives.
War exist in many ways. Either nation against nation or within ourselves.
There will always be a victor and there will always be a cost.
This conveys the true cost. With regard to its writing and conveyance! The
poem is brilliant although I think there is a type error or two which could
have been easily addressed.

Too Much To Read? Good by Ben Pickard (10 points)
This was a very touching piece which I feel needed highlighting, it
really me hard and touched me deeply.

Too Much To Read? Good by Ben Pickard (10 points)
Any poem that describes graphically a gruesome physical attack with
fruit similes’, then leads the reader into an acrostic of ‘BLOOD’ to continue
the disgusting scene - and finally, as a conclusion, a superb, Senyru is
worthy, in my mind, to a full ten points.

Despondence by Phronesis (10 points)
This week has brought us several poems filled with thoughts and powerful
visuals. I am truly amazed with this poem, just beautiful.
to miss someone so much, that you can sit there and hear every creek in
the floor, sights and sounds of loneliness.... its beyond powerful and this
poem was just amazing with all that leaves the reader to think, see and feel.
Beautiful!

Washout by Aegis (7 points)
The feeling of our words written, to be ignored or growing stale within
withered pages is a hauntingly familiar thought that most writers experience.
Aegis has dazzled me this week with his short and ever so powerful
poem, life bridges thoughts and moments, mixed with feelings and this
poem brings all that silent turmoil to a visual power display! Just wonderful!

Mornings of you by: Charmander (7 points)
The writer paints a story of what their mornings mean to them, with wonderful
imagery and metaphors used really well. There is something so special about nature,
whether it be night, day or in this case – a morning. A beautiful time of life to allow
a writers mind to create such lovely writing.
I also liked the rhyme scheme, where the writer used ‘couplets’ at the end of each
stanza. (apart from stanza four, was there a reason for this?).
The writers ink flows well throughout their piece, reflecting of mornings
compared to someone special, or just them alone and the morning. Well done.

From Dusk till dawn by Ya----Na (4 points)
There's not much I can say about this apart from it touched me deeply
and was immovable from my thoughts from the moment I read it.

Between the Rainbow and the Rain by M.U (7 points)
The imagery in this is wonderful yet its very depressing as I feel your
yearning I imagine you looking through your cracked window wondering
about the what ifs etc but we can't change what's been but we can change
what will be thankfully.

Her Beauty Shines by Mark (4 points)
Who doesn’t appreciate a love sonnet? Not me, that is for sure! Mark’s
sonnet may not be a perfect example, but it is still very good. To be honest,
I am unsure if I would recognise a ‘perfect’ sonnet. What I do know is, it
should flow/ read like sand through a hand – nice an easy.
Still, any poem that compares a lover’s attributes to the wonders of nature
will always captures one’s imagination and attention.

HOLY by Rosy Cheeks And Irony (7 points)
This writer maybe young, but this does not stop her from writing poems
that are, in a word, excellent. ‘HOLY’ is a mature write about feelings.
Feelings about herself, feelings about another, feelings and experienced shared
and the realisation that true love is unconditional. ‘Is that not some form of
holy?’

'Shelter - this way' (Grandmother stories #2) by Michael (7 points)
As someone of a certain age I know quite a lot about the world wars. I read
books and stories of battles, victories and defeats. My step grandfather was also
a concentration camp survivor who was originally from the Ukraine.
This poem tells a story of a different kind of hero, those who strive and toil
to keep their family and loved ones safe. It's not a tale that is often told and
I think it's only right that the efforts of these special people are recognised.
Michael has shared something in this poem that is quite special and is such a
fitting tribute to someone he clearly loved.
Thank you for sharing 7 points

Mobility Mayhem by Milly Hayward (4 points)
What a wonderful piece of frivolity.
I think life for those with mobility issues must be pretty hard at times.
However the author of this poem does not get hung up on the difficulties of
life. Instead they take a light hearted approach and fill others with smiles. I
certainly smiled and I loved this poem so much I shared it with my family.
Thank you
*Judges note*
To all PnQ poets. Again all of you have written colourful, wonderful, sad and
creative poems, making my head work more and more to pull out only three
from the list, that grows bigger each week! (compliment)
I would just like to say that the poems here on this site, are truly amazing, as
well as the ones that haven’t been nominated. I just feel my words of praise go
out to all poets on this site for showing their work, which opens up such personal
insights. Well done all!
