Burn by lisa marie (4 points)
The metaphors encapsulated the cycle of mental hardship that I am sure
many here will relate to. We reach out and grow as we age, branching out
and learning as we go. For some we crave that ‘burn’ that feeling that we are
actually alive. That is fine whilst the fire is hot, but in the ashes we still need
acceptance, not that cool breeze of sympathy. I liked this personal poem,
written in a creative way.

Burn by lisa marie (10 points)
The nature tone setting mixed with sorrowful words of despair left
me speechless this week. I was hypnotized by every line of this beautiful
poem... Amazing word display!!

Beheaded Fields and Self-Reproach by Ben Pickard (10 points)
This poem saw me flitting back and forward to find its meaning.
I still can't decided whether it is full of self reproach or condemnation of
others. Is it figurative or literal? I suppose only the author knows its true intent.
For myself it raises many questions but does not really give any hard conclusions.
Some things can never be truly understood even though we try. Yet sometimes
you can write of such things and captivate minds.
Its conundrum of a poem that I will revisit time and time again.

Beheaded Fields And Self-Reproach by Ben Pickard (10 points)
Another write from Ben that is written with smoothness and style. Set
this against the tormented topic: Taking the blame for others misdeeds.
Ben uses creative descriptions to impart the pain onto the reader and so
induce sorrow for hardship caused. This is not only well written, but a
poem that pulls at the reader’s heartstrings.

For the sake of a loved one By: Dagmar Wilson (10 points)
This really grabbed my heart this week. The writer tells a story of a
mother feeling torn between what is truth about a father, and the loyalty
for her daughter. The writer leaves intrigue for the reader, as there is far
more behind the scenes in their piece. This also adds to the poem itself with
not letting too much out of the bag, in a manner of speaking. A very difficult
situation, one of which the writer has to carry, for the sake of not causing an
upset, which as the writer has said it could “cost the relationship with her daughter.
This is a very well written piece, albeit with the hardship of being a mother in
this certain damning situation. I hope there is a resolve somehow.

For the sake of a loved one by Dagmar Wilson (7 points)
To be placed in a position of such trust and to share a secret can be both privilege
and curse. Especially when the secret you share is with a child.
It places a person in a very difficult situation where they may feel the need to
do or say something to help resolve the situation, but how do you do so without
breaking trust. This poem by Dagmar Wilson is a very well written piece that
captures the turmoil of such a predicament incredibly well. Brilliant work 7 points

I'll Return in Spring by Mark (10 points)
A very poignant write as ever by this author which although tinged with
sadness made me hopeful of a new beginning for us all.

I’ll return in spring by: Mark (4 points)
I have read many poems by this author, who has a natural way with writing
beautifully and such broad imagination. Painting a wonderful image of Spring
returning with its vibrant, colourful and warm feeling. Great use of language
written with such panache and a style known to this author! Well done.

Gloria (Rania's prompt contest) by Mr. Darcy (7 points)
When I read this in the thread I was fascinated, i still am, there's something
about this murderous scene that just fills me with so many unanswered,
unspeakable questions which only his truly could answer. For now, I'll
look on in awe.

Gloria by: Mr Darcy (7 points)
I see this was also part of a previous competition thread, and I come across
“Gloria” on the weekly competition. I really enjoyed this wonderful piece of
imagination from the writer. This piece in particular made me think as poets
how incredible ones mind works, also where inspiration springs out from.
A tale of a lady serial killer (known as Gloria), stalking her victims and then
the murderous act. Witty, dark and wonderful imagery just some of the brilliant
ingredients in this dark and rather seductive twisted story. Well done on a
super piece.

Misprint by Aegis (4 points)
I couldn't quite put my finger on the beauty of this piece or why I
thought of it that way but I did therefore I am issuing my 4 points here
especially as this piece has stuck with me all week.

Misprint by Aegis (4 points)
Metaphoric brilliance. I really adore and admire metaphors that shine the
emotions and build up the message. Aegis does this with ease in his pen
and with true style. Powerful gem here!

Waterfalls (haiku) by Blank Canvas (7 points)
Waterfalls always make me stop and marvel at life. Here, blank canvas
uses them, set against ‘resplendent fields’ to capture a scene that instantly
induces ‘comfort’. Is this not what a nature poem should offer: an image of
nature so real that inner calmness is reached?

Pretty Words by Hannah Lizette (7 points)
When the heart truly feels burdened and aches so bad, the words fall
and flow like a sweet falling rain shower. I truly love this piece by Hannah.
Welcome back to the world of poetry, this poem is filled with dazzling
metaphors and deep emotions. Just beautiful!

Good Night by Tony (4 points)
This is a rip up poem by Tony.
By rip up! I mean you can not ignore it. It
rips you up and pulls you in. Ripped up add ripped in.
If this poem does not make you think them you have no worth of thought.
This is a fantastic work that delves deep in to ones psyche. It raises more
questions then answers.
