Flashback (Collaboration with Noura)
by Daniel
30 points
"To love and be there for a person with overloaded trauma is one of the most difficult and yet touching moments in life. Noura and Daniel has captivated us this week with this powerful and emotional collaboration and I cant speak enough on how sorrowfully beautiful this poem is. Just beautiful." (10)
"There are poems that Grace our pages with so much emotion and a story within a story and this collaboration is one of them. Post traumatic stress affects many military men and women after they come home from the war. Noura and Daniel did a beautiful job describing how a person can feel. All the guilt, all the horrors they experienced, afraid of snapping in a split second, possibly harming this woman sleeping next to him. His military involvement fascinates her, she has no idea what he's had to do, he's hoping she can heal him before he destroys both of them. Hard hitting, unflinchingly brutal and beautifully written." (10)
"I had goosebumps run all over me, and the more I read the poem the deeper it resonates. It is narrated efficiently, almost feels like one person wrote it.
The struggles this man is facing and his woman who realizes she can never imagine how his day was, but is eager to make him feel better. She trues to let herself into his heart, but he is covered with doubt of how she may perceive him. They both want comfort in each other, but the reality blows away the two of them." (10)

The Leaves and Paradise
by Everlasting

"The leaves with a short life unlike us, with their beautiful changing visuals in the poem; hanging like a cocoon, changing colors, who are like butterflies with the win d as their wings. They want to get to the ground to fertilize soils, and breath back life to it. They are simple and can reach their goal once their life is over.
While us humans, aim for reaching higher skies , and no matter how far we go, we still don’t get there. Even after our life time. No matter how much we achieve, we rarely have satisfaction.
And the ending stanza, so beautiful wraps up the poem perfectly!!!" (7)
"I just love the sentiment in this piece. Lucero brought how we are always trying to reach the heavens, never satisfied with the distance, it's never enough. But leaves, they are quite content to laugh with the winds, flutter in the breeze, change with the seasons and fall to the ground when the weather turned cold. Falling to their heaven. I felt instant happiness after reading this. It brought life into a much clearer perspective. We could take a page from a leafs playbook and learn true heaven on earth." (7)

Therapy

"Nature is therapy and this beautiful vision display is just gorgeous. Just to be silent and hopeful , to be there in the moment to give compassion and care to a person who is living in darkness is overwhelming and to add nature to the mix is a cause for a brilliant and elegant poem!" (7)

1920's Snowflake

"Andrea has this way of weaving nature and her feelings so seamlessly. I love the visuals she invoked in my mind of these beautiful snowflakes and how they made her transport back in time to the 1920's dancing with her lover, resplendently attired. Being swept away to this magical time helps heal her broken soul if just for a short while. So much beauty in these words, so much beauty in the woman that wrote this." (4)

Muddy Water

"I love how Obscure is showing off her talent. The poem has beautiful soft rhythm and rhyme. I like how she described the process of which rain starts lightly, and at the end is pouring. I also like the images through out the poem; like the shivering puddles and the soaked linen." (4)
