The Spider in the Shower

"Mary Anne's poem this week struck a chord with me. She talks about this spider that has a home in her shower. They've developed this understanding, he or she can hang out as long as they keep their distance. Her father would have killed it a long time ago, it doesn't belong. This is where the heart of her poem came to me. The what if's of all the things that one may fight with every day, depression, anxiety, self harm, addictions....not feeling worthy, not really belonging, or feeling we should be taking space in this world. Mary Anne, you do matter! You are this amazing young woman who continues to inspire me through your writing. Don't ever forget that! This piece speaks from the heart, it's open and raw and she really pours out her feelings."
The Pauper

"Hiraeths poem this week was a lovely reminder of how even the everyday grind shared with a loved one can be truly wonderful. You can have absolutely nothing and have everything because you get to spend it with them. I tell this to my husband all the time. Doing the boring stuff like grocery shopping together is all I ever wanted. I don't need the fancy dinners and such, just being together, laughing, talking, communing in silence, it's perfect. He takes what can be draining to a soul and shows us how richly blessed we truly are."
Shadowed Spotlight

"How many people out there are these invisible super heros? So many kind hearted people who are always the ones you count on, the ones who never forget birthdays, anniversarys , etc...but also the ones you couldn't recall any important stuff about them. They give and give and give, always allowing others to shine. When does their time to shine ever come? Anne is one of those super heros, I felt her pain and frustration in this piece. She definitely deserves someone in her life to help carry this weighty load."
