Craquelure by hiraeth (10 points)
Hiraeth had many poems highlighted this week but this one really touched
me because it is extremely relatable for me and no doubt many others on
site. For me it stated that there's a vulnerability to all of us, no matter which
way we look at it and sometimes we need that reassuring voice to tell us that
it's all going to be OK but other times we've got to pull ourselves up, dust ourselves
off and tell ourselves that it's a bad day not a bad life

Words are just words, right? No, when a word is used as a metaphor or simile
it can transcend its original meaning and create a window into another realm.
For this among other reasons, this poem hits hard in a most wonderful way.

Bloom by Daniel (4 points)
Mourning the loss of a loved one, mixed with nature tones
and pure elegance- Intoxicating poem.

Bloom by Daniel (7 points)
Daniel's poem this week, although seemingly simple, spoke volumes to
me because it reminded me of many things from my childhood that
I'd 'forgotten' about and it struck a real chord with me; I will always look
back on my childhood and be grateful for the path my life went so thank
you Daniel.

James by Violet Raven (10 points)
Pouring your heart and soul and then blending it into a poem
is never an easy thing to do in writing, but Violet did just that
and so much more. To talk about suicide, alcoholism, self harm,
Depression and all around trauma tween two precious souls (adding
in just wanting to be who you are meant to be and can't) --- all in
one poem just made my heart hurt. This poem is so powerful, it needs
to be highlighted not to mention, beautifully written.

Strawberry donuts by Poet on the Piano (7 points)
Oh my heart- I love donuts- and I love this poem. To write of an eating
disorder is painful, and its not about the food... my heart, my heart- I am
speechless, just a beautiful poem.

A Foreseen Disaster by Star (4 points)
Often form is discussed when critiquing a poem. This poem says so much more
than just the literal – it expands an emotion within our minds and before our
eyes.

In A Dream by M. Rene' (7 points)
This poem made me feel like I was lightly dancing through it, each word and
image felt like a delicate hand, leading me through a world of light and dark
where I just knew I was safe. I liked the subtle rhyme and the general vibrancy
of the whole piece.

Matching Wings by ddavidd (4 points)
I really like the contrast within this piece and the imagery used is
fascinating because it says (to me at least) you make your own dreams
and your own happiness for life is what you make it and the title
'matching Wings' for me stands out as we each of our own woes but
as humans we deal with them so differently.
