The opening line is so interesting, then it opens up to that
first stanza and it’s dark and haunting, there’s something
original and beautiful about. It set the mood for the poem
so perfectly. The poem gives me chills! To me this sounds
like trying to grow, expressing and being ourselves, the world
around is so limiting and we fall into the dark spiral of
depression. There’s so many things I love about this, and it
made me feel so many emotions.
PS this reminds me of the movie Coraline.

Limits by Obscure (4 points)
Another masterful write by Obscure, showcasing their
extremely strong imagery skills. The last couple of verses of
drifting from worlds watching the edge of the world from
their house is such a poetic take on depression.

Brave by Poet on the Piano (7 points)
The emotions expressed in this poem, the vulnerability
everything it holds is impressive. And I say that despite all
the darkness it holds because poetry like this is not easy to
write. Without realizing I found myself connecting with it
too.

Brave by POTP (10 points)
Another heart breaking poem from MA, I think what gets
me the most is the underlying current of a feeling of learned
helplessness, the wanting to escape/to leave, but the
alternative isn't any better, but there being the tiniest wisp of hope
by wanting to be brave, by acknowledging that is the next step on
the journey.

Phantom by Love (7 points)
A poem rife with powerful emotions, being haunted by what
once was, the bits and pieces that still remain, and it's always
the littlest thing that seems to be most resilient, that refuses to
let go.

We need light and hope, and I found them in this. It made me
smile. This reminded me of the Rose from the book The Little
Prince, and how she was still there when the Little Prince went
back to his planet.
