When grief spills over by POTP (10 pts)

Absolutely heart breaking. We all carry with us memories we
hold dear to our hearts, memories that we think are incredibly heavy
and thought we wouldn't have the strength to carry on, but we manage
to do so, because even as heavy as that memory is, life goes on. This poem
captures that sentiment beautifully. This was an instant favourite for me, and
it's been pulling on my heart-strings the first time I've read it when it was
    posted and now.

A Reflection on Leaving, Alone by Elizabeth (7 pts)

Upon reading this, I immediately thought of the verse 'parting is such sweet
sorrow', and this poem is testament to that. Sometimes, we meet the right
people at the wrong time, but even still you cherish everything that was, and
part ways amicably, having no love lost. Such a powerful, and personal write.

My Ecstasy by Baby Rainbow (4 pts)

Writing for many of us is a way to process our emotions, and this poem rings
true to that. Whether we use it as a bridge to happier times, or to memorialize
the past and significant events - poetry, whether reading or writing (especially
writing) is always there for us.

I had no idea that each weekly contest was accompanied by a forum post. Very touching to read the commentary from over the years.
