Sweet like mambazha puttu by. Prasanna (10 points)
A poem that holds how life can be and an expression of bringing
together ingredients to create a simple meal that reflects upon love and
making use of what we have to and make the best of it.
A nice piece of writing that combines elements, whether this be
love or cooking.
An enjoyable read (10)

On forgetting to pray by Shruti (7 points)
The poet reflects on their religion, questioning their faith with god, motioning
a feeling of abandonment and maybe a little lost in their beliefs
The line that reads “I loved my god but i wish they would believe in me”
says that their faith has diminished by the use of past tense.
An interesting and well written piece giving an image of a personal
perspective of their challenges in their faith. (7)

On Forgetting to Pray by Shruti (10 points)
Relationship with God-or lack thereof can be something so rewarding
or filled with turmoil or somewhere in the middle. I think this poem rings
true for many people, why does God not believe in us/love us the way we
do-them?

Absent by Michael (7 points)
The love and pain is palpable in this poem. I adore the imagery of ‘picking
a rose from a passing cloud’ to place it on their lover’s lap.

A sad piece that takes me on a journey of how life can become a difficult
path. I like the use of ‘candle’ like things around them are waning, and how
spring comes around again, however life does eventually come to an end.
A nice visual piece. (4)

You love me enough to let me go by Shruti (4 points)
What amazes me about this poem is that it brings a breath of fresh air
to the cliched ‘if you love them, let them go’. Truly a testament to the poet’s
ability!
