I just discovered something, maybe important

try voting again.. thay wont let you on the same computer(server) it will say you already voted. me and my boyfrend has the same computer but diffrent ids and he voted on one poems and when i went to vote on the same poem it wouldnt let me vote..
its weird..

It is, but I kow when I first came on this site I didn't really want to join straightaway, so it was useful to be able to vote on the poems and quotes that I read. x

im not sure if anyone else has noticed this yet, but ive been able to vote on poems more than once... such as one day, i came in, found a poem i liked, voted on it, commented, the whole works, even favorited the person, about a week later i went in to reread the poem, and curiously tried voting again (last time i was logged in, this time i wasnt) and it let me vote again.. finding that odd, ive again waited a couple weeks, and even logged in i was able to vote a third time!!

is it normal to be able to vote multiple times if you simply wait a while between votes? i mean sure, it wouldnt let me vote multiple times the same day, or even same week, but after a week and a half or so, it did.

which brings a second thought to mind, trying this theory at work also found that i was even able to vote multiple times in the same day, from the same computer (not logged in either time). im not sure if this has anything to do with it, but i voted, it wouldnt let me vote again, but after i cleared out the cookies, it let me. (not every time i cleared out the cookies, just every few times, which strikes me as odd, could have just been a freak accident or who knows)

anyways, im probably gonna get in trouble for sayin this buy hey.... figured someone should know, i found it quite odd, and knowing how some people abuse stuff like this, thought i should share it, despite not finding any CLEAR patterns on how to make it let you vote multiple times..

it is already known by most people....

it has to do with IP Addresses... depending on your Internet Service Provider and type of hook-up (Dial up, DSL, Cable, etc) some people always have the same IP address... in which case you can NOT vote multiple times and anyone else that uses your computer can not vote on a poem you have already voted on... Others, though, have an IP address that changes everytime they log-on to the internet, in which case they can vote more than once.

hmm, that is odd, because i DO have a constant IP address, Cable internet. hmm..

my job also has cable aswell, so i dunno, maybe someone slightly more experienced in networking could explain this.
