If both people are secure and trusting of each other, it can work. They are VERY hard though. I have been in one for the last 6 months, almost 7, and it gets difficult sometimes.

Ok...in my opinion...online relationships aren't really relationships. Well...depending on if you have met the person before. You never know if they really are who they say they are, until you meet them. And you can never really know who that person is online...
I think that long distance relationships are ok. They do take alot of work, and trust. And especially hontesty. But they can work out, it just takes alot of work, if you want to put that in.

i've been in a long distance ralationship for two years but unluckily it did not work out...i love the guy so much but i realized the relationship was goin no where since both of us can't compromise...if both of you love each other so much and you plan to be together someday then give it a chance...both of you should exert effort to trust each other...it is very hard but its a part of a test on how much you love each other and to what extent can you sacrifice of not seeing your partner

*note: this is not meant to offend anyone who has different views because I know some of my comments are going to be rude, but I don't really know any other ways how to describe them*

    Online relationships are absolutly ridiculous.
Honestly, they are for the lonliest, most single and vulnerable people out there.
Reasons why online dating is absurd
    1. you cannot take the tone of an online conversation seriously. Often sarcasm is mistaken along with other emotions that create the wrong impression of the whole conversations ex: they say "i love you" as in a cutesy sign off and the reciever takes it as a serious "I'm in love with you"

    2. eye contact and facial expressions are almost crucial in an in depth conversation. You cannot tell if the other person truly means what they're saying, or how much of what they're saying means to them, or how much of an impact your words had on them

    3. Everything they're saying could be a complete lie. they could be a completely different person, in a comepletly different life than the one that they described, and even be involved in the relationship at the time and merely find a lonely person online to associate with just to see if they can.

-Long distance relationships depend on the situation. There could have been a serious relationship before hand, and then one of the people involved moved and may be moving back. In that case I could understand, except the people involved in the relationship are most likely going to be unfaithful to eachother when they have no oppertunity to be together.

Online relationships are a good way to communicate I know everyone knocks them but I'm all for the thats how I met my fiancee' but now it isn't a online relationship since i've met him, and on long distance relationships I think they are hard but can work if you really love the person.
