Looking for a good ol' debate. (note: also a respectful and well mannered one)
Anyone else who wants to join in this type of conversation post an opinion about a good topic and if I (or others) disagree we'll have some fun.

    I'll give you one.

There is a theory kicking about in the spiritualist circuit that our thoughts are pure universal energy, and that they can effect the material world at every level. This could mean drawing people and experiences to us, and also altering physical matter.

What i want to talk about is this. If it is true that everything that happens to us is a result of our thoughts, and the thoughts of others..how can we ever not blame someone who gets mugged or raped for thinking incorrectly?

Brown eyed girl, surely there is no need for a discussion there?

YES YES YES! should be the answer...i'm concerned you think it a worthy topic. Should two people who love each other be allowed to marry? Yes. Should their sexuality come into the equation at all? I think not.

    Discussion over. No offence.

Violaxcore- thanks I wasn't aware there was a section for such discussions.

Kevin- really interesting topic, where did you hear of this?
I don't agree with it. Actually if there is an article web address you could send me about it that'd be helpful because I don't know much about it and I don't want to try to debate something I don't fully understand
but so far this is what I've got-
I think the theory is all together interesting, and like I said I would have to study it further, but from just reading it, I think it sounds like nonsense.

I see no connection between our thoughts and physical matter. I could see how we can send off certain vibes that interact us with certain people, but not experiences.

Unless, that theory is meant to state something like when a few women are walking through a park (for ex) and one woman keeps thinking about how dangerous it is to be out there alone, and how she could be raped by anyone and no one would hear her scream (and so forth). A rapist happens to be in the area, and he has a few women to choose from. The one worrying keeps thinking about the subject to the point where she sets off a nervous and terrified air, thus attracting the rapist to that particular woman.
I'm not sure if I explained that thoroughly.
Anyway, I need to study that more.

Brown eyed girl- in my opinion, yes homosexuals should have the right to be married.
This is my opinion because though there is the civil rights union which is the equivelent of marriage just named differently, I think they should have the right to be married just to display their HUMAN rights and their capability to lead the same life as everyday people and not be looked upon as if they need an alternate ceremony because they were born as different people.

I know people are going to argue saying "marriage is DEFINED as a union between man and woman", but that was written centurys ago when homosexuality was considered an act of pure sin and an all together wrong way of life. The human race has evolved, this needs to as well.

Kevin I am with Pinkalias on ur topic. From what u have posted I can't say that I agree but it's an interesting topic that I would love to hear more about. Yes and the homosexual topic I aslo agree I believe they have the right to marry. I am not gay but I believe everyone should have the same rights. I agree end that topic. MY OPINION [especially for Kevin ;) ]:

Its energies that you produce (by thought form, direct, or indirect action, etc.) including karma. You can also draw experiances to you that you are insecure about, think about often (hence creating the energy, and it acts as a magnet, drawing more to itself), or need to experiance on a physical level that leads to a spiritual/ energetic level.

Not all experiances are drawn consciously to you, I would not even say that MOST are, I believe life is conducted by the subconscious and by the Universe (dealing karma and "contracted" experiances into your life).
