Voting Ones

There seems to be many complaints about people voting ones on their poems and not explaining why. Out of hate, or out of lack of talent we do not know. I was thinking that maybe if somebody wants to vote an one on anybodies poem, then they should automatically have to leave a comment why too. I know this isn't a pressing matter at the moment, but just a thought for future reference.

There shouldn`t even be votes...there are a lot of jealous ppl out there, and the 1`s are just for spite. I am one of the highest rated poets on here, and I know of at least 10 I have written that are absolute trash. the voting system needs to go. Thanx, TYG

I agree if the person wants to vote a one i think they should be required to leave a comment and explain why..at least then it will force them..or hopefully force them to be more honest...

Thank you Katherine. It is getting old with people complaining about ones over and over again. Maybe if this could take effect, we would not have so much room in the posts wasted. Again, I know this is not a pressing matter. Just a thought for the future though.

A 1 from an anonymous loser is worth a 5 from someone who takes the time to comment.

The vote means nothing, we all know it. Ignore the rating and take all the constructive critisism you can get your hands on. That's how we improve as poets.

Bret: I've heard you say that before, but I had forgotten till now. Thank you for reminding me

There should be a way to track what people normally vote, the people who vote 1's all the time should lose their priveledges.

For instance, if I read a poem that is below a 4, I dont vote on it, I leave a comment because I dont want to pull down their rankings for no reason and it wont help them, but if the poems are a 4 or a 5 I comment and I vote because votes always make people feel good, anyone can deny it, but everyone would rather have a 4 or 5 than 1 or 2.

The downvoting is getting worse, or for me it seems.

Maybe since the voting system is getting to be so abused and so many people are complaining you should have to leave a comment to vote at all, 1 or 5, it shouldnt matter.

The competition for the top spots- that's a problem. People are deliberately trying to keep some of my work out of the top spots, which is slightly irritating, just because when you are in one of the top spots more people read your work and if you arent there hardly anyone sees it.

I wish there were a way to fix it, but I dont know how, so until then I'm just bitching I guess...
