I think you need to sort out your own life before you even look at relationships.

One thing here worries a bit.

"what is stopping me is my family, i love them to bits but because of my religion i know my parents will never agree."

Is is your religion or theirs? If it is your religion you should know better than to go against your faith. If it is theirs make sure you distinguish between the two properly and make sure they know it too.

As for the boy? Well regardless of any religious crisis I would leave him be and move on. If he's so childish that he threatens you by text and craves sympathy from his peers then he truly isn't worth your time, affection or attention.

I'd either give boys a miss for a bit or find someone else.
