well, they cant really pick everyone... and do you think complaining will get you to be more popular?? let me telll you something. it takes weeks, and months of slaving over your computer, eating potato chips and drinking soda. it takes unbearable finger cramping, and it takes days for your eyes to grow accustomed to the dull gleam of your computer's light.... are you up for the challange??

there are alot of people on this website, with alot of poems....sure some are better than others, but who cares....you should be happy that you can write your poems and have people give their comments. not only that but you should be happy with the comments you do have....as someone else said...it's not a popularity contest

I hesitate to say this, but I too have been dissappointed with some of the choices in the past. I have come across so many poems that I would consider to be much better than many of the ones that win the contests, but then again, I'm not judging it, so rock on.

And it's not that hard to get recognition on this site... write decent poetry.

It's funny how its the mediocre poets who complain about not having enough recognition. If you write well, you pay your dues, and you evolve into a decent poet (meaning better than 95% of the poets on this site), you will get recognition eventually.

Whenever you start to think that you deserve an "F" award or more recognition, ask yourself if your work is better than thousands of other poets work on this site. That will answer your question, because if you write good poetry, you get voted well (in general), then you get on the top voted page, then people see your name, then they read more of your work because they like one poem, then two, then three, then you have a regular fan base. It's a gradual process, but if you are just an average poet, you wont get recognition, because there are thousands of poets on this site, and everyone cannot be well known.

How are people chosen for that?

Yes- The poems that win the contests need to be screened and made sure they are not plaigerized before they actually WIN.

That should be a responsibility of the people who choose them.

Well I'm glad you have a gold F award, because that give everyone the right to judge who is better than who right?
