Why should people who cut be labelled? if you have sex alot, we don't call you fuckers do we? lol sorri had 2 get my point across

ok you get set groups in life:
Colour
Race
Religion
etc, you get the jist.
There are NOT groups like
Cutters
Non Cutters
Sluts

That is just some made up thing from people who like to label everyone else. I think its pathetic really. I'm not religious but God put us all on this Earth to be counted as equals. Why should people change that by labelling and treating them differently because of what they do to themselves?

self harm is is a huge and growing problem, of which medicine, psychiatry, and psychotherapy HAS TO gain deeper understanding in order to help those crying with their bodies instead of their tears.

did u know pablo picasso self harmed? and famous people who have died by suicide and cutting are:
Kurt Cobain: a very talented guitarist from nirvana
Cleopatra VII of Egypt:an inspiration to many young woman, and a start for jewellary and beauty
Sylvia Plath: a very gifted writer
Marilyn Monroe: a very famous actress and role model.
and Vincent van Gogh: an extremely talented painter.

r these ppl "dumbasses" if u think they r then there is summit very wrong with you. these ppl were inspirations to so many people, and they r certainly not dumbasses for getting where they did in life.

I think they judge because they don't understand WHY they cut. And they don't understand the emotional trauma etc. The stereotypical imasge of sum1 who cuts is "Dressed in black." , "Weirdo" "Goth" etc. And I think this is what they base their judgement on, not the actual person.

ok to the person who said that go ahead and keep calling cutters dumbasses and go ahead and judge if you have to. but your the dumbass for saying why people cut when obviously you have no idea what it's like or what we feel. I see you have nothing better to do with YOUR time than calling people dumbasses and putting them down. you sound like you think you know everything. Well guess what, we're all dumbasses sometimes but your just plain ignorant.

Why do cutters or self harmers as I prefer to call them post their business, their emotions and their life all over the internet in threads and forums like this and expect to not be judged?

Your putting yourself and your behaviour on the line guys not everyone will love you for it not everyone will hate you for it, while others will be extremely vocal and others won't give a rats

Anyone see my point - nothing against people who self harm but not everyone is going to see your perspective on the issue (or any other issue ranging from religion to abortion) and you are bound to get a comment you don't agree with - don't ask for opinion if you don't want it or can't handle it - on cutting or any other fricken issues!

And in relation to the name labelling of cutters - you've done it to yourselves

Black people call each other niggas
Women will always call other women sluts
People who self harm call themselves cutter
Drug abusers call themselves junkies

Its the same in all these more modern stereotypical genres of society in my OPINION - my opinion guys don't hate :o)

Im not speaking specifically MC Im merely stating that it happens - thanks for pointing out my statement is a lil too general for some people to understand - i never meant ALL of any types on genres I listed I was simply stating - that they do it to themselves....don't take it so to heart I didn't mean you or anyone on here in particular just saying people DO DO IT AND THEY DO IT EVERYDAY...whether its you or me or not, it happens and that my friend is the point I was trying to make...I call women sluts, junkies junkies, cutters cutters at least I admit it - If you say you have never called another woman a slut or something with similar implications your are a liar

I type with between 4-6 fingers, i find it easier but my dad hates it coz i type realli fast and the keyboard is quite loud so all you can hear is me clickin away :P

Some people are taught certain things and perhaps someone from your generation I would agree that theymight had never called a person such names - someone of my generation though I think it to be untrue - except for those people in isolated religious communties. Especially this generation so widely exposed to such profanities, not that they weren't raised otherwise but once kids these days get to school - its all over they learn all those naughty words and use them - I know I don't swear around my boys and nor does my partner but once my oldest started at school he came back with words I couldn't even pronounce...I didn't raise him to swear and name call but at school its just as common to learn as the ABC....

Some people do have higher respects your right - i was too general in my statement and I retract, but unfortunately the majority of people ruin it for those few - do you see my point now Bob...? As I mentioned earlier...I was far too general my apologies all :o)

I make judgement on peoples actions and feelings and what they say and think - I'm not saying Im right in my judgement - but each one of you do it too - I just admit it. Its nature to judge someone, or gain an opinion on their feelings, situation or whatever (=judgement) - particularly when they do something like post it on a fricken forum requesting peoples thoughts on their personal life situations...

As for looking at the other side of the ball hun - I have I have been on the receiving end of harsh judgement on many an occassion and I KNOW its not nice - but it still happens, it has always happened to people by people through out history and will continue to do so in the future...I don't expect you all to agree with me - or make simliar admissions but these are merely my opinions...

If they can't handle the harshness of the reallity of my opinions and thoughts then that clearly is their problem - I don't agree with alot of thoughts I read on here - but I don't lose sleep over them either. Everyone is entitled to their own thoughts and perspectives, just because I don't agree with them doesn't make them any less valid...and if people can't handle opinions that differ to their own they should really avoid public forums...like this especially :o)

It's offensive when people come in and say things like, you're a dumbass because you cut. You cut because you had nothing better to do with your time. Blah, blah, blah, blah, BLAH!!!

We're going to be labled, and we're going to be judged, because that's just a fact of life. It's upsetting, and I hate being called a "cutter" because I do find it offensive because I am just like everyone else, but you know what? Whatever.

We don't need to hear about how stupid we are, and crap like that because you know what? I'm sure most of us get that anyone, from people we love, so we really don't need to come in here and start hearing it from people who dont know us.

Okay... people just need to stop judging others, whether it be because that person cuts or whether it be that the person just doesn't cut. Just stay out of other people's lives and DON'T judge them.

Now... I couldn't help but realize that the only ones who judge are those who in fact do not cut. They have established the term "cutter". They constantly seem to reassure none other than themselves that cutters are dumbasses, stupid, weak, etc. To those who keep saying how "cutters are dumbasses" over and over again... what's your point? WHY DO YOU JUDGE?!?! You certainly know nothing about the person... and DO NOT give me the bullsh!t reason saying that you "know a cutter" or whatever, because that person may be different from me or from someone else. So, if you don't know anything about someone, you have nothing to base your judgements on, therefore your judgements in turn give us a reason to judge you and call you ignorant, thick-headed, etc. To everyone who gets judged... THEY'VE GOT NOTHING ON YOU!!!
