Nothing against your mourning but personally was not affected by his death...except for the fact that the news was plastered with it and it didn't leave room for other world issues - was not affected.

I hope your doing okay though hun your in my thoughts - just keep your faith and stay strong :o)

I think the Pope was hurt more by his death than anyone else.

I can't post anything else without bashing the Catholic religion, so I'm done.

yes i was really hurt. at first it was just sort of a shock in that i couldnt believe it because hes the only pope during my life. then it sort of hit me nd i cryed a bit because the world really did need more great caring and selfless people like that. now im just hoping the next one will be as wise as the last one.

Recent conversation between someone I know, and her dad:

    Dad: "The pope died."
    Girl: "The who?"
    Dad: "The pope."
    Girl: "Where?"
    Dad: "What do you mean?"
    Girl: "The pope of who?"
    Dad: "???"
Girl: "The pope of what country?"
Dad: "The pope is the Catholic religious leader."
Girl: "Okay, but of what country?"

    ...

He was just another dude...another grain of sand...not more important than all the other thousands of people who died that day...if any one of you says otherwise then you clearly have lots to learn about the worth and value of each human being.

And besides, like every other Pope, he had the opportunity to move the Catholic faith forward in terms of modernist thinking on sexual issues, education, and even political world views, and he didn't do it. Such a waste of a well educated brain.

The fact my Grandmother still thinks i'm in trouble with God because i have sex with a girl i am deeply in love with but am not married to, is down to the Pope and the Vatican dogma train he belonged to. The new Pope will be the same....hence the decline of catholic numbers in Europe! yay!!

i didn't agree with a lot of the things he said, i don't have a religion, but i don't criticize people who belong to any religion or religions themselves because then it makes me a hypocrite, I’m not some sanctimonious self righteous arsehole, so I’ll be brief.

I think he was just another man but that does not mean people can not feel sadness at his passing.

He was a lot better for the catholic church than Mr. Nazi Youth who's in their now.

i didn’t agree with a lot of his views such as protection in sex and abortion, but they were the views of the catholic church, but he never hurt anybody and was a kind man.

    So R.I.P John Paul II

i think its interesting on what other ppls perspectives are, well to me i though he
was an angel sent down from god to preach
to us about our father, thats what he did.. and well to me he will be an angel. he was the only pope who travelled, he was the youngest pope. he was so inspirational. I watched the video when he got shot by the heart and you had to have seen the crowd, every one was down on there knees praying and crying asking god to help him.. he was the only pope that ever got attacked. Read his biography its actaully pretty interesting, he had a tough life. But to me... now were all gunna die in about 3-4 years.. im sorry but ..thats what i believe in.. the revolution is coming, read the bible most interesting book you will ever read.
