What is wrong with short poems?

HEYY I THINK THIS IS A GREAT LIL POEM. IM NOT POSTIN ANY POEMS ON THIS SITE NO MORE SO MANY PEOPLE DISSING MY POEMS BECASUE I EXPRESS MY SPEELING DIFFERENTLY. BUT I AM ONE OF THOSE SHORT POEM WRITERS SO0 YEAH

there isnt anything wrong wit a short poem. i write good poerty and some of my poems are short.

I ve been experimenting with my poems lately instead of writing huge poems Im writing shorter - non rhyming poetry but I also find the response less than my usual style - So I'm agreeing with you Born and am also curious as to why?

I think you have to consider the majority of the readers within PNQ and think about what the target audience is in here..

Some of the best poems are not long. Like Haiku's, they are no longer than three lines long!
But sometimes the shortness of a poem makes it seem unfinished, but if a short poem can have a point and be neatly ended, then there's nothing wrong with it...

And like I said before, nothing is wrong with short poems.

I love short poems alot. It's like, you can usually tell better what it's about, but not always, my poems are hard to understand. and most are pretty short. (they have hidden meanings usually)/ But, long poems i like also, but people are always up in your face about oh, no, it would be better but you have to add more to it. And it's like,no! but.. Great topic, i'm sure many people will post their opinions here!

Probably because short poems take very little, to no thought. I mean, those four lines don't LOOK like they took much thought at all. They may HAVE, but the reader can't see that entirely (depending on word usage, and topic).

Shorter poems seem like you had a thought, went with it for awhile, and then it died, and you gave up.

Now, haikus are a different story...

And to anwer your first comment.... no one really cares about the lenght, once again, it's quality, not quantity. And people who do, have a different perspective, so let them be, can't blame them for it. If you don't like the outcome, then that's too bad, bad you're completely honest, and so are they...
