What is 'Emo'? And what are the bands that count as being 'Emo'?

a musical style (or even genre) that promotes overly sensitive, whiny white kids self-esteem by giving them a community to dwell in with no standards of self-respect, or creativity. Derived
from "punk", a now 30 plus year old musical genre of getting back to basics in Rock N'Roll. Only problem, punk was so overtly corporatized from early in it's inception, that it was only valid for a short time, and now contains legions of followers who don't care about melody, music, or being positive.
They just want 3 chords, some pseudo-melodramtic lyrics, to make their lives seem actually more important than they really are, not dwelling in reality. Often marked by would-be intellectualism, but wouldn't or couldn't understand Sartre or Nietzsche if it bit them in the ass. This whole concept of "emo" further marks the decline of Western Civilisation, and the mediocrity of "post-moderism".
