Definately take a pass by Bob Shanks work, he has a lot of really great ones and they all have very deep meaning and wisdom, the kind of stuff an English teacher would love to see.

I do not write sad poems, so you probably won't find anything to your liking. I do have a couple of historical poems, three based on single word lines, two sonnets and a whole bunch of general stuff.

If you do want to use something of mine in this instance however feel free, I hope it helps.

Elizabeth Ann, FTS Miles, Kaitlin are all good but Andrea has some killer dark poems.
