Am I reading the right signs?

Ok, I know it sounds pathetic and so junior high, but I recently moved house and have had to get a different bus to college.
I already knew a girl on the bus, which was a relief!!! But she introduced me to this guy who lives down the road from me. We get the bus from the same stop and we talk whilest waiting for the bus, on the bus, and walking home. I knew I liked him from the moment I saw him.
I've started to see him around college and he ALWAYS gives a smile or a "Hi" when I see him, also I walked past a cafe at lunch and he was in there, my mate told me that he watched me walk past, but I didn't even look inside!!!
I really don't know if I am reading all the right signs, does he like me? Or does he just see me as a friend? Please help.

It all sounds pretty innocent to me. A smile and a "Hi!" every time he sees you is normal for friends. But watching you walk by is a little more (maybe). If you like him, try dropping some subtle hints that he could pick up on. If he doesn't make any move, then he must not be interested. But that's just my humble advice.

But what kind of hints?!?!?!? That's what my friend said, but we have NO IDEA at all of what kind of hints to drop!!!!

Drop hints that say that you are available and interested in him. Do some light flirting. You know, laugh, play with your hair, touch his arm, that sort of thing. Nothing too heavy now, you wouldn't want to come off as promiscuous. You do know how to flirt, right?

Well yeah I know how to flirt, it's got me into trouble too many times!!!!
Well I always ask him questions about him, and he always answers them, and asks simular types of things back!!!

Well, it sounds like he's interested. So what are you waiting for? Go for it. Just start off light.

Since splitting up with my ex I've been a bit shy of guys, I was with my ex for a long time and kind of expect everything to be as easy as that was, that's why I'm holding off!!! Well tomorrow whilest we are waiting for the bus I will flirt. He's really interested in my poetry and wants me to give him the link, but he will deffinatly figure it out then, as he can guess that alot of my poems are about him!!!
